The Nigerian Army has decorated six newly promoted senior officers to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel at a ceremony held in Akwa Ibom State.

The event, conducted at the 2 Brigade Officers’ Mess Extension, Mbiokporo Military Cantonment, was presided over by the Commander, 2 Brigade, Brigadier General Nnabueze Emmanuel Okoloagu.

In his remarks, Brigadier General Okoloagu expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for approving the promotions.

He noted that the elevation was a recognition of the officers’ dedication and professionalism.

He urged the newly promoted officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by serving as role models to their subordinates and remaining committed to the service of the Nigerian Army and the nation.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Adamu Kukah thanked God for the promotion and expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for the honour.

He pledged that the officers would discharge their duties with renewed commitment, professionalism and loyalty.

The promoted officers are Lieutenant Colonels Emmanuel Adamu Kukah, Adebisi Aliyu Aderemi, Owen Joseph Ewe, Sunday Olusegun Abodunrin, Umar Musa Tello and Chimzim Chinda.

The ceremony was attended by senior military officers, including the Chief of Staff, Headquarters 2 Brigade, Colonel Joshua Kolawole Adisa; Commander, 2 Brigade Garrison, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul’azez Ajibola Jimo; and Commanding Officer, 6 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Ezekiel Yakubu Gyan. Family members, friends and well-wishers of the officers were also present.
