bandits abduct 6 Defence Ministry directors, kill 3 youths in Nasarawa State

Panic has gripped the Federal Civil Service following the abduction of six Directors of the Federal Ministry of Defence by gunmen along the Kabba-Lokoja highway.

This came as no fewer than three Migil youths have been killed by bandits despite the state government’s threat to deal decisively with perpetrators.

The abduction of six Directors, it was gathered, happened on November 10, 2025.

The senior officers, who were travelling from Lagos to Abuja for a Directorate-level promotion examination, were intercepted by the assailants in what sources described as a well-coordinated ambush.

The incident, which has sent shockwaves through the Defence Ministry and the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, has sparked renewed concerns over the safety of public servants travelling long distances for official duties.

In a statement, the ASCSN President, Shehu Mohammed, and the Secretary-General, Joshua Apebo, condemned the abduction and assured members that efforts were underway to secure the release of the victims.

According to the statement, “Those kidnapped are Mrs. Ngozi Ibeziakor, Mrs. C. Emeribe, Mrs. Helen Ezeakor, Mrs. C. Ladoye, Mrs. J. Onwuzurike, and Mrs. Catherine Essien. These Directors, who are members of our union and staff of Command Day Secondary School, CDSS, Ojo, Lagos, were travelling from Lagos to Abuja when they were kidnapped.”

The ASCSN disclosed that the Defence Ministry had already mobilised its security operatives, who are taking urgent steps to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted Directors.

“We have always advised the Federal Civil Service Commission to conduct promotion examinations in the states instead of compelling public service employees to travel long distances to Abuja. The current security situation and deplorable road conditions expose workers to grave risks.”

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence has reportedly intensified efforts to locate the victims, deploying specialized security teams to comb suspected hideouts around Kogi State.

3 youths killed in Nasarawa

The incident happened on Gidan-Raid Road, Kwara in Keana Local Government Area of the state, when three youths were sent on an errand by elders of the clan to break news of death of an elder statesman to family members in another community.

Recalled that two youths were shut dead and one other abducted and still in custody of abductors since two days ago at Sarkin Noma, a neighbouring community in a night attack.

The resent attacks and killings in Nasarawa communities have forced many residents to appeal to president Donald Trump to consider Nasarawa State in his plan to wipe out terrorists in the country.

Reacting, many sympathisers at the mass burial of the three killed at Duduguru, who were in tears said they wanted Trump to hurry up in his planned invasion to wipe out terror in Nigeria.

While others kick against Trump’s planned attacks, others hold that he is the only solution to the senseless killings that have ravaged communities.

The three victims who hailed from Duduguru in Jenkwe development area of Keana council were given a mass burial early hours of yesterday in Duduguru.
