UYO – TOPFAITH Schools in Mkpatak, Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom state has awarded Master Emmanuel Zekhome N1.5Million cash price for emerging best in the 2024 Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE).

Zekhome was crowned Topfaith School Scholar of the Year with a score of 8 ‘A’s and one ‘B’ in his result released over the the 2024 SSCE.

Dr Emmanuel Emmanuel Abraham, Chairman of Topfaith Schools, at the prize presentation of the prize yesterday at the school ground said the School Scholar annual prize was introduced to stimulate excellence among the students.

Dr Abraham, an Economist and educationist, noted that the excellent performance of Topfaith students in this year’s WAEC examinations was no miracle, but a painstaking and intentional approach by teachers, parents and the students combined to enhance such brilliant performance.

“Our philosophy is that we are always aspiring to be on top because our faith is top, reason we are called “TOPFAITH”. We are poised to contineously go up.

“The SSCE for this year is much higher in performance than last year. The breakdown shows the first 40 students by our assessment did well. Of this number, the first three students scored 8 ‘A’s each and one “B” of 9 subjects each in the examinations.

“Within the 9 subject areas, three of them scored ‘A’ s parallel and one “B” each. Following them immediately is another set of 12 students scoring 6 “A”s parallel and three “B”s and between 5 and “4”s are the rest of the students we presented for the exams.

“We presented 193 candidates for 2024 SSCE intentionally groomed to achieve this scores. This intention will gain momentum because I read that the University of Calabar this year is using grade point to screen JAMB candidates for admission.

“This means that by the time you have 9 or 8 ‘A’s it is something to remember that such student carried an aggregate points of 10 in nine subjects, we will have 5 as aggregates.”

“Then nobody will compete with our products for this university admission. This is the beauty of this kind of performance shown by our students”, He said.
