THERE ARE GANU AND KWAM-1 IN ALL NIGERIANS

n a realm or society where dubious wealth is not only beyond rebuke, disapproval, or reproach but is hailed or celebrated as a virtue, such a society inevitably spirals into a vortex of corruption, spiritual misdeeds, and bizarre rituals.

At this pivotal moment, Ganu resonates deeply with Nigerians and their spiritual leaders, and its significance is impossible to overlook. Leading the charge with a flourish of evocative language is none other than the stingy but illustrious King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, affectionately known as KWAM-1.

Meanwhile, in this current landscape, KWAM-1 emerges as a dynamic force for reawakening a collective consciousness, challenging the pervasive hypocrisy that veils the nation. Within every Nigerian lies the spirit of Ganu and the rhythm of KWAM-1, waiting to be reawakened. But the adversaries of KWAM-1 are eager to see him slip down the rungs of his triumph and success, tirelessly pulling him away from the heights he's conquered in his music career. Unfortunately, KWAM-1's personality is emblematic of all hypocritical Nigerians. In other words, his personality embodies a charisma that is perfectly disruptive of the double standards of Nigeria's discerning critics.

The astute cyborg, Mr. Afolabi Babatunde, brilliantly distilled the essence of Ganu into a concise notion. He describes it as: "Ganuism embodies the art of showing up unexpectedly at festivities, eagerly anticipating a generous offering of either cash or free culinary delights."

Certain Alfas and pastors earn the title of Ganu(ists). While some humble and poor Alfas beg for crumbs from the affluent, some pastors manipulate their way into the hearts of the poor, needy citizens for their own 'ganu' gains. Both the wealthy and the impoverished become the unwitting prey in the genuflecting or kneeling game played by our spiritual leaders. KWAM-1’s brusqueness may raise eyebrows, yet it serves as a bold beacon, illuminating the 'ganuflective' postures and underlying hypocrisy that linger among some Nigerians.

Furthermore, in Nigeria, the tapestry of societal views on corruption is often a patchwork of contradictions stitched together by individual ambitions and self-interest. Yet, when personal benefits are stripped away from corrupt practices, a collective recognition of corruption's inherent wrongness emerges in the Ganu Nigerians.

We observe a dance of hypocrisy within our populace. Unsurprisingly, Nigeria has consistently attracted leaders who are reflective of its own character. The cycle of governance is birthed from the fabric of its followers. From the very dawn of the nation, deception has woven itself into the essence of Nigerian life. A radical transformation in Nigerian mindsets is essential to pave the way for a thriving society.

Moreover, corruption is woven into the DNA of every Nigerian, spanning a spectrum from politicians and musicians to entrepreneurs, spiritual leaders, educators, students, tradespeople, and marketers alike. An ironic twist of fate lies in that those who stray furthest from moral shores often emit the loudest outcries of protest. There’s a steadfast refusal to engage in consensus. Nigeria, a land rich in contradictions, endures under the weight of persistent hypocrisy. In every sense, there are Ganu and KWAM-1 in all Nigerians.
