We've heard the stories-the Red Sea parting, fire falling on Mount Carmel, the upper room shaking with tongues of fire. We've built altars on the memories of what God did. But what's coming will make history jealous. What's coming will outshine the revivals of old. Azusa will look like a candle beside the blaze of what's coming. Wales will seem like a spark compared to the inferno that's about to break out.
But here's the dangerous part-glory doesn't come cheap. The coming glory will not rest on unprepared altars. It will not sit on hearts that are too proud to bow. It will not dwell where men are more concerned with their image than His presence. This glory will demand something deeper. It will require death to self and abandonment to God. This glory will not fall where men are still in control. Moses saw a glimpse of it and his face shone. Isaiah saw it and cried, "Woe is me!" The priests couldn't stand to minister when it filled Solomon's temple. This glory strips you bare. It exposes everything that flesh tries to cover. You don't stand in glory-you collapse under it. You don't handle glory-it handles you. But we have learned how to run services without glory. We know how to stir emotions without stirring heaven. We've learned how to gather crowds without gathering God. And so He has waited. He has held back the weight of His presence because He knows that glory can kill those who aren't ready for it. Uzzah touched the ark and died-not because God was cruel, but because glory responds to order. When men try to handle glory without holiness, it becomes judgment instead of blessing. The coming glory will bypass systems built on ambition. It will ignore platforms erected for men's applause. It will not be scheduled or controlled. It will not be marketed or branded. It will descend where there is brokenness. It will rest where there is hunger. It will invade where there is holiness. The coming glory will not come to impress men-it will come to enthrone Christ. When the glory comes, it will expose the counterfeit. All the noise, all the self-promotion, all the theatrics will crumble beneath the weight of His presence. The gifted will step aside for the anointed. The stage will be swallowed by the altar. The names of men will fade beneath the brilliance of His name. And not everyone will survive it. When the glory comes, it will purify as well as empower. It will burn away the mixture. It will separate wheat from chaff. The sons of Eli will be exposed, and the remnant will arise. The glory will not fall on the polished-it will fall on the prepared. But for those who have been waiting, for those who have been hidden in the wilderness, for those who have built altars in secret and wept in intercession when no one was watching-the glory is coming for you. Heaven remembers the midnight prayers. The hidden tears. The sacrifices no one saw. And the reward is coming-not in the form of recognition, but in the weight of His presence. The glory is not coming to entertain-it's coming to reign. Thrones will be overturned. Kingdoms will be shaken. And the true sons of God will arise, not with microphones, but with authority. Not with charisma, but with power. The weight is coming. The fire is coming. The glory is coming. Prepare the altar. Prepare your heart. Because when the glory comes-nothing will remain the same.
