s the title of the piece suggests, the Super Eagles of Nigeria, with all due respects to the opposition, have a real chance to go all the way! This is by no means overlooking a potentially explosive semi-final cracker. However, taking all the factors into consideration, this is a real opportunity the Super Eagles cannot afford to let slip-up; to be African champions once again!

It reminds one of the situation the Super Eagles found themselves in 2013, at the "African Nations' cup competition" in South-Africa, after eliminating the then highly feared "Elephants " of Cote d' Ivoire. One wrote a piece then on facebook, with the above-captioned title, in reaction to that famous victory, and, it's likely consequences for the Super Eagles, in furtherance of their ambitions in that competition. Thanks goodness it all came to pass for the Super Eagles of Nigeria then. Hopefully, it shall come to pass for the Super Eagles in the current edition of the "African Nations' cup competition"!

Coach Peseiro started the players in the now usual 3-4-3 formation:

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was in goal, and, further, proved himself the absolute number one goal tender for the Super Eagles of Nigeria! He saved one point blank chance for goal by the Angolans, and made many numerous successful interventions for Nigeria! Kudos to him and the entire team!

The three central defenders were:

Semi Ajayi, alias "The gentleman giant"; Stand-in Skipper William Troost-Ekong, alias "Rock of Gibralter" and " The Kwinkling-tinkling " Calvin Bassey. They formed a rock solid trio in the Super Eagles' last line of defence. And were generally efficient, save for two slip-ups which were fortuitously saved.

The wingbacks:

"The usually brilliant" Ola Aina and " The elegant" Zaidu Sanusi. They played excellently well. Kudos to them and to the entire team!

The central mid-fielders:

Frank "The tank" Onyeaka and Alex Iwobi, alias "The dancing Krekel". They held stand well in the tough encounter. Kudos to them and to the entire team.

The wingers:

Ademola Lookman and Simon Moses , alias "The Atilogwu dancer", were super! Simon Moses gave the assist to Ademola Lookman for the Super Eagles' only goal of the match! Kudos to them and the entire team!

The centre-forward and Africa's best player: Victor James Oshimen, alias "El Magnifico". He as usual put up a brilliant performance. He also advertently or inadvertently played the "decoy striker", and, thus, pulled to himself two defenders of Angola, thus creating more space/ scoring opportunities for the other Super Eagles players. This contributed to the only goal of the match! Kudos to him and the entire team!

The substitutes:

"Field Marshall" Kenneth Omeruo; Alhassan Yusuf; " The highly dynamic" Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu, alias " The lanky striker", all did well. Kudos to them and the entire team.

In conclusion, the Super Eagles deservedly won the tough and close encounter against the "Palancas Negras" of Angola. They have thus qualified for the semi-finals of the "2023 African Nations' cup competition"! And are within touching distance of the title! Though it is still a decent measure of tough distance to the finishing/end line. The Super Eagles must keep/ maintain the focus, as they enter the crucial stages of the "2023 Nations' cup competition"!
