Barely two months ago, we were together at the University College during a matriculation event where the Late Chief Kenneth Okonkwo was installed as the Board of Trustees Chairman. Chief Willie Obiano, the Governor of Anambra State sat in the occasion with a lot of sympathy and expressed a deep feeling of great loss to the State, the Umuawulu people and others and particularly the family of Late Chief Dr. Kenneth Ositadinma Okonkwo over his death.

His condolence message as enshrined in the funeral brochure is very inspirational coming from the heart of a great Governor mourning a great son of Anambra who did our State and the nation proud through his accomplishments, character and great courage. Governor Obiano's funeral message is a must read which takes the reader on a non- stop journey till the end.

Condolence Message of Dr. Willie Obiano, Executive Governor of Anambra State

My heart is heavy on writing a condolence message in memory of our Chief Kenneth Okonkwo, Agunecheigbo. Ken was so close to my family and so beloved in my administration that I can scarcely ever find words of consolation for his immediate family, friends, Umuawulu community and close associates. On behalf of my family, the Executive Council members of Anambra State Government and Ndi Anambra, I urge all of us, particularly the Okonkwo family, to accept my heartfelt condolences.

Ken's tragic death in auto-crash that early morning left all shuddering and helpless as to the wickedness of death. Until his last breath, Agunecheigbo was full of life and awesome in his characteristic cheerfulness that seeks to assail all hurdles to our collective success and victory. Among our team his affableness acknowledged no enmity, both to his person and the State. His vivacity and robust style, no doubt, touched so many hearts hard to console; more so, in his Umuawulu community and the entire Anambra State. We will miss him so dearly because he embraced life with enthusiasm and contributed his parts, in inestimable degrees, to advance life in our state for the better. He ran a good race and left enviable records for all to emulate.

Death is a debt we all owe to life. Therefore, I am persuaded that Agunecheigbo has fulfilled destiny and deserves a place of good rest in the Lord's sweet bosom. We cannot but thank God for availing Anambra, particularly my government, of the services of so great a soul, who until his tragic end, superintended over the establishment and successful operations of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA) Brigade, with remarkable achievements for all to see.

As we pay our last respect to one of our own, may I urge us all to be ceaseless in prayers for the peaceful repose of his active spirit in Jesus name. Amen

The Board of Trustees of Lisbon University College of Management Technology and the entire management, Staff and students hereby join the Governor of Anambra State to commiserate with Ken's family, his home town, communities he touched, Anambra State, including all his friends and well- wishers both in Nigeria and abroad.
