hristmas, it is the world's most celebrated festival. The period of its celebration coincides with the end of the year in the 12th month of December. Every soul on earth celebrates this pagan festival and thus has become a tradition for us all. Yet, the inerrant Word of the Almighty God, the Creator cannot be changed. He warned us who are His genuine Own: "Do not follow a crowd-referring to the world-to do evil�" (Exodus 23:02) and the ISV unpacked this scripture in pure language thus: "You are not to follow the majority in doing wrong�"

It is astonishing that both the month named December by the Romans and the Christmas Festival celebrated are demonic, but many in the world will either justify these Satanic rituals or counsel us to look away content with the status quo. Simply because everyone is doing a thing doesn't make it right, but what matters is what the Almighty God, the Creator of everything says about that thing. Satan and his demons have contrived all manners of behaviors, activities, festivals, and practices since the fall of Adam and Eve and had sold them to the human race as traditions, customs, and cultures. Many of these lore and practices from the pit of hell are diametrically opposed to the Commandments of our Lord God Almighty as revealed to us in the Holy Bible, yet the majority of the people of the world indulge in these practices. Did the Almighty God command that we should commit adultery? But is the practice not widespread on earth today? Is adultery then acceptable before the Almighty God simply because it is committed by the majority of the inhabitants of the earth? Is there any human being on earth today who has not committed fornication-having sexual intercourse with a man/woman you are not married to-and pre-marital sex-having sexual intercourse with a man/woman before consummating marriage-but are sins before the Almighty God? No wonder, our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is God in the flesh called out the mendacious Pharisees and Sadducees on their deceptions in elevating their traditions and customs about the laws and commandments of the True Lord God Almighty: "You have disregarded the commandment of God to keep the tradition of men." He went on to say, "You neatly set aside the command of God to maintain your own tradition. For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother" and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.' But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever you would have received from me is Corban' (that is, a gift devoted to God), he is no longer permitted to do anything for his father or mother. Thus, you nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do so in many such matters." (Mark 7:8-13).

WAS OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST BORN IN DECEMBER?

The Holy Bible, the Book of Instructions that the True Lord God Almighty gave to us His genuine children and believers to guide and guard us in our Christian Journey warned us thus: "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good�" (I Thessalonians 5:21). Elsewhere, we who are real worshipers of our Lord, Master and Savior Jesus Christ were warned thus: "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world" (I John 4:01). Satan is the indisputable god and prince of the current world system because the Holy Bible pointed this out to us and our Lord Jesus Christ referred to Satan as the "prince of this world": "And now I have told you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you will believe. I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me," (John 14:29-30). Apostle Paul said, "Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God" (2 Corinthians 4:04). The moment our First Parents; Adam and Eve listened and obeyed Satan in the Garden of Eden and disobeyed the True Lord God Almighty not to eat the fruit from the seed of the tree of good and evil, ipso facto, the power over the earth given to Adam and Eve transferred to Satan for whoever you listen to and obey is your god. As Apostle Paul pointed out in Romans 6:16: "Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey-whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?" And Apostle Peter echoed similar spiritual truth: "� a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him� (2 Peter 2:19). No wonder, Satan uppishly confronted our Lord Jesus Christ with air of braggadocio: "The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, "I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours." (Luke 4:5-7). Satan, the bastard, and son of perdition stole the power given to Man through Adam and Eve!

Today, Satan, the son of disobedience and destruction has "infested" all areas of human life: politics, economic, fashion, entertainment, the arts and culture, traditions and customs, sports, and name it, including our human communication and languages. Do you see how the word homosexualism has been changed to gay? Do you see how pornography has become adult entertainment? Do you see how lesbians, homosexuals, bi-sexual and their ilk have desecrated the rainbow and hijacked it as their emblem contrary to what the Almighty God intended in Genesis 9:16; also see Revelation 4:3? Truth in our world today has become elusive and searching for the truth is like looking for Saddam Hussein in Iraq. We see how moral relativism is butting heads with moral absolutism in our world today, yet there is one truth, and that truth is the one revealed to us by the Truth Himself Who is our Lord Jesus Christ, period! As He pointed out in His Word, the Holy Bible: "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth" (John 17:17). I as a worshiper, believer and follower of our Lord Jesus Christ do not care what the whole world may claim as the truth; if it is not in the Holy Bible, it is not the truth, period! Satan may have plagued all facets of human life but thank God we have the Holy Bible as our guide and life compass, Hallelujah!

Can anyone point out to me from Genesis to Revelation where the Virgin Birth of our Lord, Master and Savior Jesus Christ was celebrated? Is there any scripture in the Synoptic Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John-where our Lord, Master and Savior Jesus Christ said those of us who are His genuine followers, born-again Christians should celebrate His Birth? Is there any recorded occasion in the Acts of Apostles where the early believers celebrate the Birth of our Savior? These questions are germane in our Christian Journey and don't let me hear you say, it doesn't matter, because it does matter. Should a traditional act or customary behavior that is contrary to what the True Lord God Almighty commanded be accepted as the truth? Can we escape the fierce judgment of the Great Judge-our Lord Jesus Christ-if we hold on to the traditions of human beings by setting aside His Commandments? As He took a swipe at the religious leaders during his earthly ministry: "You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions" (Mark 7:8).

Let us look at the evidence in the Word of Life, the Holy Bible as the authority of all things delivered to us by the True Lord God Almighty. We can prove from the inerrant Word of God that Christmas Celebration is a pagan festival and should be anathema to any genuine born-again and heaven-bound Christian to celebrate it and even partake of it at all. The whole world may be in frenzied frabjous annually in the demonic month of December, yet to us genuine born-again Christians, the festivities are not celebrations of our Messiah, but of Satan. The Holy Bible clearly contradicts the world's celebration of the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ in December termed Christmas.

Here are the Biblical facts in plain sight. First, Luke's account of the political ambience of the Virgin Birth of our Lord, Master and Savior Jesus Christ: "Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that a census should be taken of the whole empire. This was the first census to take place while Quirinius was governor of Syria. And everyone went to his own town to register. So, Joseph also went up from Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, since he was from the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to him in marriage and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for her Child to be born. And she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn" (Luke 2:1-7). From available secular historical records, Caesar Augustus was one of the reasonable leaders in the Old Roman Empire of which ashes the current Western Europe grew and the rest parts of the empire. No wonder, the current 8th month of the Gregorian Calendar known as August was named after him. In the Old Syria where our Lord Jesus Christ was born, it would be inconceivable that a Roman Emperor would order, and decree census should be conducted during winter. From this decree alone, we know that national censuses are traditionally conducted during summer all over the world. Consequently, the month of wintry December could not have been the month my Lord, Savior and Master Jesus Christ was born as it is being celebrated today as Christmas by majority of the inhabitants of the earth.

Second, the account of Dr Luke, a Gentile believer who possibly had an interview with the Virgin Mary chronicling his account of our Lord's earthly life reported that there were shepherds in the field when a convoy of angels accosted them with the Good News of the Lord's Birth. "And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger" (Luke 2: 8-12). You don't need to be a keeper of animals and sheep to know that sheep are not left in the open field during winter since snow is bad for animals. In Old Syria and even in that area of the world today, animals are mostly kept in their stables; thus, our Lord Jesus Christ couldn't have been born during this month of December that is being celebrated as Christmas. Third, it would be far-fetched for visitors from the East would embark on a journey during winter as reported in the account of Matthew, one of the disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here were his accounts and recording in Matthew 2:1-2: "After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him." Again, commonsense tells us that the Magi from the East would not embark on the tortuous journey of coming to Bethlehem in winter to see the King of kings and Lord of lords. We are not concerned about the identities of the Magi here, neither are we interested in the exact time they saw His Star in the East which necessitated their journey. These are outside the scope of this article, but we are interested in the time-season-they arrived in Israel. Could they have arrived in the winter? Definitely not!

Third, we explicate further the narrative of Matthew in the same Chapter 2 as reported by him thus: "When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him." Considering the fact that Joseph was a poor man and a young man trying to raise a family, it would have been hard on him to provide for his wife and the tot to embark on a journey to Egypt as instructed by the angel that appeared to him. If he were a rich man, he would not have allowed his young fianc�e carrying a pregnancy to deliver in a manger. We can also deduce that, if Joseph were a celebrity or a man of noble birth or high status, someone in Bethlehem would have offered him and his young wife a place in one of the inns to deliver the Baby Jesus rather than watch them huddling on snowy winter at a manger to deliver a child. No wonder the Word of Life says: "He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him" (John 1:11). Has anything changed today more than 2,000 years after the Lord Jesus Christ came to deliver us from the stranglehold of Satan and his demons? Our Lord Jesus Christ was not born in the month of wintry December please!

Fourth, could the Lord of the heavens and the Universe be born in this period of jollifications, merrymaking, and bacchanal orgies called Christmas when Matthew reported that a wholesale infanticide swept across the land under a murderous king? Could the auspicious occasion of the Virgin Birth of the Lord of lords be a period of gifts buying and giving, entertainment, eating, and drinking when Matthew informed us that "When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled: "A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more" ---(Matthew 2: 16-18). Compare the dolorous ambience of the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ in Bethlehem unleashed on the land by Herod as chronicled by Matthew and our current merriment in Christmas? So much for the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ in December! This account of the slaughter of the innocents was only recorded in the Book of Matthew and thus very significant.

Fifth, all open sources on the Internet traced the origin of this global tradition known as Christmas to pagan worship. According to the History Channel in the United States, Christmas had its origin in Germany as a pagan festival to the god Oden. In the Scandinavia, it was the pagan celebration of Yule from where we got the name Yuletide. In Old Roman Empire, History Channel reported that: "In Rome, where winters were not as harsh as those in the far north, Saturnalia-a holiday in honor of Saturn, the god of agriculture-was celebrated. Beginning in the week leading up to the winter solstice and continuing for a full month, Saturnalia was a hedonistic time, when food and drink were plentiful, and the normal Roman social order was turned upside down. For a month, enslaved people were given temporary freedom and treated as equals. Business and schools were closed so that everyone could participate in the holiday's festivities. Also, around the time of the winter solstice, Romans observed Juvenalia, a feast honoring the children of Rome. In addition, members of the upper classes often celebrated the birthday of Mithra, the god of the unconquerable sun, on December 25. It was believed that Mithra, an infant god, was born of a rock. As to this pagan festival being celebrated annually around the world as the Birthdate of our Lord Jesus Christ, the History Channel concluded thus: "In the early years of Christianity, Easter was the main holiday; the birth of Jesus was not celebrated. In the fourth century, church officials decided to institute the birth of Jesus as a holiday. Unfortunately, the Bible does not mention date for his birth (a fact Puritans later pointed out in order to deny the legitimacy of the celebration). Although some evidence suggests that his birth may have occurred in the spring (why would shepherds be herding in the middle of winter?), Pope Julius I chose December 25. It is commonly believed that the church chose this date in an effort to adopt and absorb the traditions of the pagan Saturnalia festival. First called the Feast of the Nativity, the custom spread to Egypt by 432 and to England by the end of the sixth century." The History Channel is a secular organization, but the editors and producers in the station knew that history is history and thus cannot be denied. A Google search on Wikipedia on the Internet supported the History Channel as to the origin of this pagan festival. Simple, because most people of the world, including some Christians "� loved human praise more than praise from God" (John 12:43). Just as our Lord Jesus Christ aptly pointed out that: "�What this world honors are detestable in the sight of God" (Luke 16:15).

Now that the truth behind Christmas as a pagan festival is exposed, how are you to react to the open truth as a genuine born-again Christian? Don't tell me it doesn't matter, because you will stand before the Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ on Judgment Day and the Book will be opened and this scripture will be read to you by the harvesters-the angels-thus: "Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong�" (Exodus 23:02). The so-called Christmas Celebration is not the celebration of the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, period! There are other demon-gods that Satan, the deceiver of the world has propped up to be worshiped and among these demon-gods are Yule, Oden, Juvenalia, Mithra, Saturn etc. Consequently, anyone who partakes in sending of gifts and taking children to Santa Claus, drinking, and entertaining during this period is afoul of the Lord's Great Commandment in Exodus 20:3-6: "You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in the heavens above, on the earth below, or in the waters beneath. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing loving devotion to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments."

What shall I do as a born-again Christian who has been celebrating this pagan festival for years, because it is an age-long custom and tradition of the world? First, ask for God's forgiveness. Celebrating this demonic festival is a grave sin before the True Lord God Almighty. As He pointed out to us: "Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy" (Proverbs 28:13; See also I John 1:1-10). You need to fess up to the True Lord God Almighty that you have missed it all these years and now that you know the truth about Christmas, He should forgive you of the sin of idolatry. Plead the Blood of Jesus and confess that there is only one festival that our Lord Jesus Christ instructed us who are His true worshipers should observe in His Honor as a remembrance. "And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying,"This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." And likewise, the cup after they had eaten, saying,"This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood" (Luke 22:19-20, Matthew 26:26-28, Mark 14:22-24 & I Corinthians 11:23-25). Promise and make a solemn pledge to our Lord Jesus Christ that now you have known the truth about Christmas as a fetish occasion, you will observe the Lord's Supper regularly. Then pray that the Holy Spirit will empower you to resist the temptations of loved ones and that of the world in this season to be a part of the world, because the Word of Life warned us genuine born-again Christians that "�friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God" (James 4:4). Demonstrate your repentance of this sin of idolatry by works such as prayer sessions during this "season of madness" known as Christmas. WAR IS TERRIBLE! THINK AGAIN. BETTER TO TALK THAN WAR-WAR

The heart-wrenching stories and pictures that dot the global mediascape coming out of the South-Asian nation of Afghanistan are assaults on our collective consciousness as human beings. The precipitous withdrawal of the United States after two decades of occupation are eyesores to the rest of the world that, when the chips are down, no foreign power, outsiders and organizations or otherness will come to develop your nation. Between September 11, 2001, when President George W. Bush invaded that nation and last week when President Joseph R. Biden withdrew our troops, the United States spent $2 trillion on the war against the Taliban. That staggering amount translates to $300million per day. If you divide that amount by head for the poor people of Afghanistan, that translates to $50,000. In the war, 2,300 US soldiers perished, 75,000 Afghan soldiers were massacred while 71,334 civilians died with many unaccounted for. As a matter of fact, the true costs of the war may never be known.

Many people became millionaires, toads of war who cashed in bigly like the runaway Ashraf Ghani who helped himself to unknown amount of the Green Backs. The military industrial complex also helped themselves handsomely while the poor, the women, young girls, the marginalized and the vulnerable are on their own. That is war! For those who are beating the drumbeats of war elsewhere, they should look no further of what awaits them. War is terrible. It is not a dinner party.
