Lagos, Nigeria

have lived in some prosperous nations of the world. So I sought the face of God to know what things we ought to do in order that we too in Nigeria can live a good life.

The Lord responded and in 2011 I bought air time on certain radio stations and I started to drum it into the ears of Nigerians, the path to our prosperity, which is nothing else but Godliness in all the undertaking of every citizen.

That is the Road map, which I found in the only wise book ever known; the Bible, God's word.

The good thing about it is that, Godly living as the requirement to the prosperity of the nation is not an un-familiar terrain to our nation. It is the path, which our fathers tread in the past and which made the country to be progressing.

But we children think we are wiser than God and the fathers, who laid the foundation of this country and we in our own case decide to follow the path of greed, lack of consideration for the other fellow and this has resulted in chaos, where a few people, are able to condone the wealth of the nation leaving the majority to live in misery.

Soon after I started my campaign for the prosperity of Nigeria through righteousness, people started to suggest Rawlins's method. I responded that, it might have worked for Ghana but it won't work for Nigeria. One past incident informs one of this.

I have equally preached many sermons, where I indicated that I have a better alternative to street protests. Street protests could have worked in other countries and it may work in Nigeria but it is more likely to lead to loss of lives and I have been proved correct with the incidents that have happened in October 2020.

We can achieve our aim, without any loss of life if we can follow God's road map for our prosperity.

So, today, I am preaching today on "A Preferred Way to Street Protests; the Only way to Citizens Well-Being as outlined by God"

Let us pray.

God who creates man gave us guidelines, which if we follow, will afford us to live happily and have sufficiently, all, which we need in order to live comfortably.

One religious leader asked Jesus, which of the commandments is the greatest. Jesus answered "You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.'[e] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[f] 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments" (Matthew 22: 36-40)

The fathers who laid the foundation of this country must have been guided by the counsel of Jesus just read. They were not perfect human beings but they would obtain anyone's excellent pass mark. They had the welfare of the citizens in mind and they worked towards it.

Unfortunately, the people who enjoyed the selflessness and dedication of those fathers to the well-being of citizens, got to the top and broke the ladder, which took them up and those coming behind are no longer able to get to the top but are decimated. Their generation will suffer the consequences of their evil actions. It is not a curse. Prophet Hosea had said it, "They have planted the wind and they will harvest the whirlwind" (Hosea 8:7)

One big man was on TV recently lamented on the suffering of the masses. He spoke of how the government took care of his generation from Primary School to High School. He had been a military governor as well as a civilian governor and now a serving senator.

Having been a beneficiary of a responsible government, with his present status as a Senator, should he not be a strong voice to demand for equality in the share of the common wealth, which will allow the youth to prosper? I would expect someone like him who is a beneficiary of a responsible government in his youth to work towards the generation after him to enjoy same he had enjoyed.

I would expect him to work with his colleagues; former governors and his colleagues in the senate to denounce their bogus retirement benefits as Civilian governors and the bogus salary, allowances and constituency allowances as Senators.

If the government of his youth had been greedy like them, will he and his co-legislators have enjoyed all they did as students, even from the Primary School?

He and his colleagues are overfed from the pot of food cooked for every citizen, leaving the rest of the citizens to sleep in hunger.

The President himself in his 2021 budget laments about the overhead cost of the running of the government but without proposing any rectification.

The World Bank long time ago had said it that 80% of the wealth of Nigeria is consumed by just 1% of the population while 99% of the population scramble for the rest 20% of the wealth. What an injustice.

I do not understand how those who took pocket money, who ate free food, who had free boarding, free books, free clothing and transport allowance in the high school and those who had robust scholarships, who ate three course meals three times a day as undergraduates, who had their clothing laundered, who had three or four jobs before they even completed their final examinations, got to positions of authority, can be comfortable with the situation on the ground today.

God knows that we cannot all be equally wealthy. He even knows that there will be some people who will be poor and not necessarily due to any fault in them but simply by providence and in His wisdom has laid down the programs of how such people will be taken care of.

Majority of Nigerians are suffering today because it is either we are ignorant of God's plans for our welfare or we intentionally scorn and see them as primitive. If it is the case of ignorance, it is not an excuse in law.

Love for God and love for one another is our solution.

The Law makers and other Politicians always behave as if they love God, yet they alone eat all the food in the pot leaving others to starve.

They display the nature of a religious person. They do not miss any prayer time, signifying that they love God but do things that hurt and kill their fellow citizens.

John the beloved in his first letter chapter 4 verse 20 wrote " Whoever claims to love God yet hates and I add, do not show kindness to a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister and I add; whoever does not show kindness to whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

If the Policemen love God they will not be extorting the citizens, they will not be cruel to them.

If Office clerks and Messengers love God, they will do their work without asking for gratification. If Account Clerks love God, they will not attempt to share in any money, which they ought to disburse.

If Committee members of any program love God, they will use the money allotted for their programs faithfully without stealing it.

Government always budget for the welfare of the citizens but unfortunately, most times, do not reach the beneficiaries; officers who are assigned to run the program corner the funds. If the program officers love God, they will not do those.

If artisans love God, they will not cheat their customers.

If Admission Officers love God, they will not demand money from applicants before they offer them admission.

If Market people and merchants love God, they will not inflate costs of their articles.

But majority of us go to Church and Mosques portraying us as people who love God. But so long as your behavior is not in compliant with God's guidelines, with no consideration for other fellows, you are nothing but liars and you are candidates of hell.

What this nation needs is a transformation of the hearts of all citizens including those who congregate in Churches and Mosques on Sundays and Fridays; who are holy on Sundays and Fridays during worship services but who once the services end, return to their wicked ways"

I preached a sermon some years ago titled "Sermons that ought to be Pronounced, Emphasized and Re-Emphasized on Nigerian Pulpits"

I concluded the sermon with the following words "Hammering Godliness in all our endeavours must meanwhile flood the pulpits on Sundays and Fridays. Hammering good behaviour and Godliness must be more pronounced, emphasized and re-emphasized until our religiosity translate into Godliness and righteousness; until we have a country, which we can be proud of. That is very urgent. Righteousness alone exalts any Nation"

This campaign is a better alternative to street protest and no blood will be lost.

Religious leaders must first be purged of covetousness; love for money.

If Traditional rulers are committed to the prosperity of the citizens and they appreciate that "Only righteousness exalts a nation----" they will counsel their subjects appropriately to good behavior and decorum.

Rather than street protests, we will organize Town Hall meetings and Solemn Assemblies, involving citizens of all religions in cities, towns and villages, where the benefits of Godly living will be explained and encouraged. The Bible says that faith comes by hearing (Romans 10: 17)

You may ask me, supposing someone is intransigent and will not play along? The Bible has an answer in 2 John vs 10 "If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. 11 Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work"

With this, however highly placed anyone is and he plans not to play along, he should be isolated and excommunicated.

If we can follow this God's plan, it is bound to be well with all citizens. The wealth of the nation is bound to go round. Jobs will be available for everyone as it was at the beginning. And our journey to heaven will be a lot easier.
