RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD

od has written it in every heart to know what is good and what is bad. A baby reaches some age when he knows what is bad behavior and what is bad behavior. He reaches an age when he knows that there are consequences for doing something bad. By the time he matures, he knows that we will not live on earth forever and he realizes that the souls of people who are bad on earth will go to hell, which is a place of torment after they die.

Many of us believe that no one is holy but there is a level of badness, which man must exceed before he is thrown to hell. Many believe God will consider some of our good works and our religious services and save us from Hell. This makes our forefathers to say "Heaven knows who will be saved". And they pray that God meets them doing good. After someone dies, people organize prayers for him that God forgives his sins and grant him a place in heaven.

I have also heard many people say "I do not claim to be holy but I am not a witch, I do not murder, I do not cheat, I do not wish evil for anyone, I do not commit adultery, I help anyone who comes my way, I give alms to the poor. Upon all these, I pray constantly, I do not miss any prayer times and I fast constantly, so God will not throw my soul to hell"

In the eyes of the public, you are a good man and you are well spoken of.

I do not dispute this with you, but let me tell you, none of these good deeds you do make you righteous in the eyes of God.

Why?

Because God has judged all men ever born to be unholy and unrighteous.

The Old Testament of the Bible in Isaiah 64:6 says that "--We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness is filthy rag-----"

The New Testament of the Bible in the book of Romans 3:23 equally says that "--All have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

With these statements, all men therefore are condemned to the bad heaven i.e. hell.

We all are condemned to hell because we are all sinners. No one of us is holy.

What is God saying; that all these my good deeds are not enough plus my zeal for His work?

Some people in the days of Jesus boasted of their religious services and acted pious, Jesus had to educate them, the depth of the law, so that they might know that God cannot be impressed with their 'super' good deeds. Jesus said

27 "You have heard the commandment that says, You must not commit adultery28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart " (Matt. 5: 27-28)

With all these eye opener, I want to hear one man born of a woman, say he has never lusted after a woman, that person is a liar and a hypocrite.

James, the brother of Jesus and the early pastor in Jerusalem expatiated it this way:

"10 For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God's laws. 11 For the same God who said, "You must not commit adultery," also said, "You must not murder."[e] So if you murder someone but do not commit adultery, you have still broken the law.

With this, I want to hear a man or a woman who wants to say then that he or she is righteous and qualify for heaven because if no unrighteousness will live with God at the end of the age, then we all are doomed for hell.

Paul expressed same this way, "For Moses wrote that if a person would be perfectly good and hold out against temptation all his life and never sin once, only then could he be pardoned and saved" (Rom 10:5).

We must therefore get acquainted with the standard of holiness God requires from us.

Ok how then does God measure righteousness?

Only in the Bible we know how God decides who is righteous. We see this in the letter of Paul to the Romans 3:22

22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. God makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.

27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.

God did this for us as a soft landing so that we, who have been condemned will be spared if someone will take the punishment due to him, i.e. if someone will die in our place. But only the blood that is stainless, can atone for the blood of the sinner.

God had said in the book of Leviticus 17:11 "-------- for it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul"

It means that an innocent life must be sacrificed to redeem a life that is condemned.

This is what Jesus did for us because He is the only one who ever lived without sin. And He was able to achieve perfection because He is part of God as well.

In order then to be made righteous and not to go the way of hell, we must believe in His plan of redemption with sincere thanks to Him because according to Hebrews 12:14 "without holiness, no one will see the Lord"i.e. without holiness no one will enter the good heaven, where God lives.

Jesus told a religious leader:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him (John 3:16,36).

So you who is a sinner can be made righteous and holy and be able to live with God after death by accepting the act of mercy of God paid for, with the blood of Jesus.

But to be made holy, requires that you confess Jesus for what He did for you.

The Scripture says:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved"

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10).

So it is all an act of mercy of God and it is called 'grace'.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephes. 2:8-9).

After this, you become a new creation. Love for all kinds of sinful behavior will no longer appeal to you (2Cor. 5: 15-17).

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1).

As simple as this? Yes. As simple as that.

Confession of faith in Jesus Christ is the key to salvation. After you confess Him, then you live your life for Him. Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ, then supported with good deeds. Apostle James, Pastor of the early Jerusalem Church said "Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead"(James 2:4-6)

My friend, this is the truth summary of how you can be made righteous and enter the good heaven, where God lives.

Simply thank Jesus for dying in your place and tell Him that you accept Him as your Lord and Saviour and ask Him to please write your name in the Book of life.

After this, believe that you are saved and live the rest of your life for Him.

Please write me for further enquiry.
