s we hold the International Gathering of Eagles Conference (IGOE) in Kinshasha DRC from Nov 21-23, 2024 with the theme -Transformed by His power -we are led to thank God for this great nation and to pray for great transformation as follows. Please pray:
1. Let us thank God for the massive land area, DR Congo is the second-largest country in Africa and the 11th-largest in the world with a population of around 109 million, and the most populous Francophone country in the world.
2. Let us thank God for DRC widely considered one of the world's richest countries in natural resources; Its untapped deposits of raw minerals are estimated to be worth in excess of US$24 trillion. The DRC has 70% of the world's coltan, a third of its cobalt, more than 30% of its diamond reserves,10 % copper of the world. 3. Let us thank God for the wide spread of Christianity in the country. 93.7% of the population are Christians with Catholics making up 29.7%, Protestants 26.8%, Other Christians 37.2% and Islam 1%. 4. Let us pray for peace and stability. There is the challenge of persistent conflicts, tribal tensions, and militia violence. Let us pray for God's divine intervention to bring lasting peace, unity, and reconciliation among all groups and neighbouring countries. Let every spirit of division and violence be replaced with unity, understanding, and love among the people. (Philippians 4:7) 5. Let us pray against corruption. There is widespread of corruption in governance and resource management that has pauperised the nation. Let us pray for leaders of integrity who will manage the nation's resources with justice and accountability. Father, raise godly and trustworthy leaders in DRC. Expose and remove corrupt practices, and establish systems of righteousness and fairness. (Exodus 18:21). 6. Let us pray for economic growth and resource management. DRC faces the challenge of mismanagement of vast natural resources, leading to poverty and inequality. Pray for wisdom to harness resources for sustainable development and economic prosperity. Oh Lord bless the economy of DRC. Grant wisdom to leaders and businesses to use the nation's resources for the benefit of all citizens, eradicating poverty and fostering prosperity. (Deuteronomy 28:12). 7. Let us pray for improved healthcare. DRC faces the challenge of poor healthcare infrastructure and prevalence of diseases like malaria, Ebola, and malnutrition. Pray for divine healing, improved infrastructure, and access to healthcare for all. Lord Jesus, we ask for Your healing power over the DRC. Strengthen healthcare workers and provide resources to combat diseases and improve the well-being of the people. (Jeremiah 17:14) 8. Let us pray for educational development. DRC has low literacy rates, lack access to quality education, and inadequate school infrastructure. Pray for an education revolution to empower the youth with knowledge and skills. Skill to develop their manufacturing and processing sector so that they can process their mineral resources and reduce massive exploitation by the advance countries. Lord, open doors for educational opportunities in DRC. Provide the resources, infrastructure, and teachers needed to equip the next generation with knowledge and godly values. (Hosea 4:6). 9. Let us pray for environmental protection. DRC faces the challenge of deforestation, illegal mining, and environmental degradation. Pray for sustainable practices to preserve the nation's rich biodiversity. Oh God, we ask for Your wisdom to manage the environment in DRC responsibly. Protect the land, forests, and wildlife from exploitation and destruction. (Psalm 24:1). 10. Let us pray for the Church in DRC for revival and spiritual awakening. There is moral and spiritual decay in the society. Pray for a nationwide revival, where the people will turn to God and walk in honesty, integrity, holiness and righteousness. Oh Lord, let there be a spiritual awakening in DRC. Transform hearts, draw people closer to You, and establish Your kingdom principles in the nation. Strengthen the leadership of the Church. (2 Chronicles 7:14) Conclusion As we lift the Democratic Republic of Congo in prayer, we trust God to bring transformation, healing, and progress to the nation. May the Lord's will prevail in every sector of society.
