“And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” Mark 16:20
Too often, we limit Easter to a season—singing special songs, attending powerful services, wearing colorful clothes, and shouting "He is risen!" Yet the resurrection was never meant to be a mere historical event we commemorate annually; it is a daily power we are meant to experience!
What Does It Mean to Live the Resurrected Life?
Paul declares in Philippians 3:10 (NIV):?"I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death." Living the resurrected life means:Walking in the newness of life (Romans 6:4).Letting the power that raised Jesus operate in you (Ephesians 1:19-20).Walking in victory over sin, fear, and condemnation.Embracing hope even when circumstances look dead.Carrying the light and life of Jesus into a dark world. Living the resurrected life is about demonstrating the power of God walking in miracles , to solve human problems. From the scripture ,Mark 16:20 says, "Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His word by the signs that accompanied it." This verse captures the essence of living the resurrected life — moving boldly in obedience, empowered by the risen Christ. The disciples didn’t just celebrate the resurrection; they became living proofs of it. For example, Peter, once fearful, now boldly preached and 3,000 souls were saved on Pentecost (Acts 2:41). Stephen, full of the Spirit, faced death with courage and forgiveness, mirroring the victory of Christ even in suffering (Acts 7:55-60). Paul, once a persecutor, became a tireless missionary, spreading the gospel across nations and living daily by resurrection power (Acts 13:2-5). Living the resurrected life means letting the risen Christ work through us, confirming His Word with power, signs, and a transformed lifestyle. Characteristics of a Resurrected Life:
1. Dead to Sin, Alive to God (Romans 6:11) Living the resurrected life means recognizing that we are no longer slaves to sin. Christ’s resurrection didn’t just cover our sins; it broke sin’s power over us. We are now empowered to live in obedience and holiness. Our new identity is rooted in righteousness, not rebellion.
2. Victorious Mindset (Romans 8:37) A resurrected believer doesn't think like a victim but walks in the confidence of victory. No matter the battles we face, we are "more than conquerors" through Christ who loved us. Our mindset shifts from defeat to dominion. We don't fight for victory; we fight from the victory already won at the cross.
3. Boldness in Witnessing (Acts 4:31) After the resurrection, the once fearful disciples became bold proclaimers of the gospel. Resurrection power gives us courage to testify about Jesus without fear of rejection or persecution. When we realize Christ is alive, we cannot stay silent. The Holy Spirit emboldens us to be His witnesses to a lost world.
4. Hopeful in Trials (2 Corinthians 4:14) The resurrection assures us that suffering is never the end of the story. Even when circumstances seem dark, we hold on to an unshakeable hope that God will raise us up. Our faith is anchored not in what we see, but in the power that conquered death. Because He lives, we know there is always a better tomorrow.
5. Walking in Authority (Luke 10:19) Through the resurrection, Christ restored to us the authority that Adam lost in the Garden. We now have spiritual power to trample on the works of the enemy, to heal the sick, and to declare freedom. A resurrected believer does not live in fear but in divine authority. We walk confidently, knowing all power belongs to Jesus and He has shared it with us.
Questions The Holy Spirit is asking you and I:” If you truly believe in the power of My resurrection, why are you living like a defeated person? Why are you carrying burdens I already broke on the cross?" Why are you not going out to do exploits , so that I can confirm what you are doing with signs and wonder?
Conclusion. As we celebrate Easter , this year change your attitude and mentality from annual celebration to a daily celebration. every day you and I must choose. Stop living as if Jesus is in the grave or you are in the grave . Jesus is risen . Resurrection power is not a theory—it’s a reality for every believer willing to walk in it. What is your choice?
