MY YEAR OF JUBILEE AND SETTLEMENT

eloved, welcome to a brand-New Year 2025, this is your year of Jubilee and Settlement; What you might call the year of double blessings. "And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you, and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family." Leviticus 25:10. Jubilee is a time of restoration, freedom, and rest-God's ordained season to reset, re-jig, renew, restore and rejuvenate your life. It is a period when debts are forgiven, captives are freed, and what was lost is restored. Settlement, on the other hand, is the process of being divinely established in every area of life." But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. God knew 2024 was tough and challenging for you, therefore he rolled it away and gave you a brand-new year, so don't focus or ruminate like the Israelites did in the wilderness, always thinking of when they were in Egypt until they provoked God and God wasted them in the wilderness or like Lot's wife who looked back and became a pillar of salt! Focus, like Paul on what is before you and press on to enjoy the promises of God for you, that 2025 is your Year of Jubilee and Settlement. Together, Jubilee and settlement represent God's promise to lift burdens, restore dignity, and grant peace to His children world wide but to you specifically.

Imagine yourself in a spiritual and physical aircraft and listen to the Pilot, Jesus Christ saying fasten your seat belt, as we journey through this year. May your faith be ignited to experience your personal Jubilee and settlement in Jesus' name.

What is Jubilee?

The term Jubilee originates from the Hebrew word "yobel," meaning a ram's horn or trumpet. In Israel, the year of Jubilee was announced with the blast of a trumpet every 50 years. It was a year of rest, release, and restoration:

Rest: In the year of Jubilee, the land rested. Farmers ceased sowing and reaping (Leviticus 25:11). This rest reminded the people that God was their ultimate provider, and it renewed their faith in His sustenance. In our day God is not saying don't go to work, or that farmers should not go to farm, or don't run your businesses, but God is promising that the unnecessary pressure, burden and struggle characterising making ends meet shall be taken off your shoulder. You may have been laboring endlessly, trying to make things work on your own. Jubilee is God's call to rest in Him, trusting that He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). For example, the business you have laboured on for years without success shall become profitable. For instance there is nothing you have not done to get a good husband, attended services, moved from church-to-church, attended conferences, even parties, and yet no ring on your finger; in year of settlement, you will be announced as the latest couple in town in 2025.

Release: All debts were forgiven, and captives were set free (Deuteronomy 15:1-2). Those enslaved because of financial hardship were liberated, symbolizing a new beginning. Whatever has held you captive, whether financial struggles, emotional pain, or spiritual bondage-God declares your release in this season. In the words of Obadiah - But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions Obadiah 1:17

Restoration: Possessions were returned to their rightful owners, and families were reunited (Leviticus 25:13). This restoration was not merely physical but deeply emotional and spiritual, as people were given a second chance to rebuild their lives. Have you lost opportunities, relationships, or possessions? This is the year God will restore all that the enemy has stolen (Joel 2:25). A new year is always a new beginning, to do things differently in a better form, to have better result. Going down memory lane "in the summer of 1986, two ships collided in the Black Sea off the coast of Russia. Hundreds of passengers died as they were hurled into the icy waters below. News of the disaster was further darkened when an investigation revealed the cause of the accident. It wasn't a technology problem like radar malfunction-or even thick fog. The cause was human stubbornness. Each captain was aware of the other ship's presence nearby. Both could have steered clear, but according to news reports, neither captain wanted to give way to the other. Each was too proud to yield first. By the time they came to their senses, it was too late" You want to experience restoration, do things that will enhance restoration.

2. What is Settlement?

Settlement means being established, perfected, and made whole in every area of life. It signifies a transition from instability to stability, from lack to abundance, and from chaos to peace. " But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you."1 Peter 5:10. God's settlement encompasses:

Physical Settlement: Your health will be restored; you will be able to move about and fulfill destiny

Spiritual Settlement: Peace with God and growth in faith.

Financial Settlement: Stability and sufficiency in provision.

Emotional Settlement: Healing from past wounds and peace of mind.

Family Settlement: Reconciliation and harmony in relationships.

3. Steps to Entering Your Jubilee and Settlement

To experience Jubilee and settlement, certain spiritual principles must be embraced:

a. Consecration: Unfortunately, some vocabularies, holiness, sanctification, consecration, purity, righteousness and the like that caused people to be intimate with God and helped in their spiritual journey in the 20th century have recently disappeared from the pulpit. As we prepare to lead the people this year to that genuine era of Jubilee and settlement these words must be emphasised by we the preachers and interpreters of the gospel. Consecration, means setting yourself apart for God. It involves surrendering every aspect of your life-your thoughts, desires, and actions to Him. When you consecrate yourself, you make room for God's presence to work mightily in your life. Paul's admonition in this regard must be trumpeted on our pulpit: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." (Romans 12:1)

Before crossing the Jordan River, Joshua instructed the Israelites to consecrate themselves, and God performed wonders among them (Joshua 3:5). Let me, like Joshua admonish you as you cross to 2025, be prepared to consecrate yourself. Stop scamming people in the name of making quick business or hustling. Youth, Daniel Generation, Gen Z- generation consecrate yourself, its not enough to sing in the choir on Sunday or play instruments for people to dance, and afterwards you leave the church to commit fornication or adultery. Why must you become a Baby Mama of Baby Papa when you can give yourself, your parents ad relations, your pastor and church members the dignity of a beautiful wedding and solemnization of your marriage. Jesus admonishes us "be ye holy". People of God, holiness is still possible. Yes, you can still live a consecrated life in the office not participating in corrupt and sharp practices ruining our nation. Don't say if you can't beat them join them. Don't join people to do evil.

b. Faith: Faith is the currency of heaven. To experience Jubilee, you must believe that God's promises are for you. Faith activates the supernatural and brings divine realities into existence. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6) The woman with the issue of blood demonstrated faith by pressing through the crowd to touch Jesus' garment. Her faith made her whole (Mark 5:25-34). You need faith to tap into God's heavenly promises and banquet. Life is more spiritually controlled than you can imagine. What you don't believe don't expect. Jehoshaphat said "Believe his prophets you will prosper." The corollary is true. You disdain the word of God and put yourself in trouble. Don't just go to church, apply the word of God. Walk in faith not in doubt. Believe you will pass that professional exam. Believe it is your year to embrace the child you have prayed for, believe you will gain admission, trust God for the visa to your desired JAPA destination, you will not live all your life as a tenant, you can become the medical doctor you have dreamt of as a child. Your faith will fast track your settlement in Jesus' name.

c. Forgiveness: Forgiveness is another word that is mentioned on the pulpit and in conversations but not actually practiced. Forgiveness is a critical step to entering Jubilee. Unforgiveness keeps us in bondage, but releasing others sets us free. Forgiveness includes letting go of grudges against others and forgiving yourself for past mistakes. When I see Christians, couples divorce and separate I am concerned. They say they have no grudge; I have forgiven him or her but we can no more live together. I cannot go to that church any more. In the Biblical jubilee slaves are released. Human beings who have served you for years, you let them go. Jesus said "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you" (Matthew 6:14). Imagine all that was done to Jesus Christ on the cross and he forgave them and brought you and I to God's sonship. Joseph forgave his brothers, paving the way for his own emotional and relational settlement (Genesis 50:15-21). I encourage you to start this year on a clean slate forgive all those who have offended you, parents, children, spouse, siblings, uncles, aunties co-workers, colleagues, bosses, neighbours, church members. Every offence you carry is like a rotten tomato in your body, guess what it makes you smell!

d. Obedience: Obedience to God's word is non-negotiable. When we follow His instructions, we position ourselves to receive His blessings. Obedience often requires stepping out in faith, even when circumstances seem unfavorable. Naaman, a Syrian commander, obeyed Elisha's instruction to dip seven times in the Jordan river, and he was healed of leprosy (2 Kings 5:1-14)."If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land." (Isaiah 1:19)

e. Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving opens the door to God's presence and aligns us with His will. It shifts our focus from problems to God's faithfulness. A thankful heart is a magnet for divine blessings. Psalm 100 :4 says "Enter his gate with thanksgiving." Enter 2025 thanking God for the past years. Yes, there were challenges but the challenges did not consume you. When you celebrate God for his deed he will meet your needs. Until you praise Him, He will not listen to your request. Develop the attitude of gratitude. Warfare is not possible until there is praise-fare. When Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns in prison, God intervened with a miraculous deliverance (Acts 16:25-26). "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

The Blessings of Jubilee and Settlement

When you embrace Jubilee and settlement, you experience freedom and deliverance. Deliverance from sin, fear, and bondage (John 8:36). You experience restoration: A return of all that was lost (Joel 2:25). You experience peace: An end to struggles and the establishment of divine order (Philippians 4:7). You experience abundance. Your cup will overflow. (Psalm 23:5). The widow of Zarephath experienced abundance when she obeyed Elijah's instruction to prepare her last meal for him. God provided her with an unending supply of oil and flour (1 Kings 17:8-16). In your Jubilee, God will exceed your expectations and meet your every need-did I hear you say a resounding AMEN.

Conclusion

The year of Jubilee and settlement is God's gift to His children-a divine reset and restoration. Today, through Jesus Christ, we can live in the perpetual reality of Jubilee. Will you trust God to lead you into your personal season of rest, release, and restoration? Through Christ, you can claim these blessings and walk into a season of divine fulfillment.

Declare today: "This is my year of Jubilee and settlement. I will rest in God's promises. I release my burdens, and walk in the fullness of His blessings!" May the God of Jubilee establish, restore, and settle you in every area of your life. Amen.
