finished playing this great song by Master KG & Nomcebo Zikode of South Africa a few days before my birthday on October 1. I was going to put it out the first week of October on Youtube and Facebook. But then news of the tragic death of a childhood friend of 53 years, Ubaka Ojukwu, reached me and in deference to his memory, I decided to stay things.

But I know that when we were growing up, because of our Christian beliefs, Ubaka and I and many others thought that Jerusalem was in heaven! My mother told me she thought so too. So, I cannot think of a better song to dedicate to Ubaka’s memory than a song that says – “Jerusalem is my home, don’t leave me here”

In the video, I played, sang and for the first time danced, yes, I danced. I love it that much. I added harmonies, for what will a choir boy do without harmonies. I also slowed down the tempo of the music to allow time for folks to digest its beauty and mellifluousness.

This video is in memory of my friend Ubaka Ojukwu, who passed away suddenly in Nnewi in the beginning days of October as well as my cousin, Emmanuella Obiageli Nwabueze, who also passed away at the same time. RIP Ubaka and Obiageli. We will see again
