Annie Brisibe is an Ijaw from Ojobo in Delta State. She is a research/development professional. Annie started her primary school carrier in Lagos and went on to Command Secondary Scool Ipaja where she graduated in 1988. Annie later graduated with a bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics and Extension from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology Port Harcourt.

She is a development activist, a champion of women's course in Nigeria and an advocacte and a campaigner of grassroots peoples rights against oil multinational companies. Annie is presently a grad student at Dalhousie University in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada, having graduated from the Coady International Institute St Francis Xavier University Nova Scotia Canada.

She is the founder and Director of the African Women Research Center and the president of the Niger Delta Women for Justice. Annie also holds the position as the State coordinator of Women in Nigeria Rivers State Branch.
