DON'T MISS THE TURN…

ife is about maximizing opportunities that comes across our way. Nothing is worse than missing an opportunity that could have changed your life. One of the secrets of success is to be ready when your opportunity comes. Take every chance you get in life because some things only happen once. God will supply us with the opportunity but it's up to us to do something with it. Excuses have 'executed' many destinies; don't fall prey to its whims. In the end, we only regret the chances we did not take.

Our lives are defined by opportunities even the ones we miss. You only fail when you stop trying. Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and think of what could go right. The situation may not be encouraging at the moment but don't give up. There is always a lesson to learn from the struggles. When you learn to see your struggles as opportunities to become stronger, better and wiser then, your thinking shifts from impossibilities to making things happen.

Every day is an opportunity for you to put your potential to use. Don't be afraid to start all over if you need to. Opportunities don't often come along. So, when they do, you have to grab them. And sometimes, don't wait for opportunity to come your way, you can create one yourself. Have you ever thought of areas in your life where you need to create opportunities? Just like those rare moments, opportunities can also be created and exploited to our advantage. Steve Jobs saw an opportunity in the mobile phone industry and grabbed it. He did not wait for the mobile phone market to mature; he made people feel the need for an iphone. Are you struggling with your dream or are there life challenges threatening the fulfillment of your dreams? Just get up and take that step. You may not have another opportunity to do that.

As I wrapped up my speaking engagements on one of my recent travels and was getting ready to return, my younger brother came visiting. We stepped out to do some catch up and on our way back, he missed the turn that could have gotten us home on time. As he sought out other routes, he eventually connected through a bypass leading to the house. We haven't gone far when we met with policemen who stopped us for a routine check and to make matters worse, there was also traffic on this route. As we head home, I heard the Lord (in His usual way) speak to my heart: "Many have missed their turn in life and as a result prolonged their journey in destiny" We must be watchful! When we miss our turn in life, it exposes us to unwarranted elements who could further delay our journey. There is a route ordained by God to get us to our destination on time. This route is laced with grace. You need to be vigilant and avoid distraction so you don't miss it. When you miss that turn, you may be faced with 'traffic and destiny harassers' who could further delay you. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Maintain focus. Take that 'right turn' and it will lead you to your destination. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous and God - filled 2018. God bless you big.
