ith his billions, it was a titanic battle for late Chief MKO Abiola to emerge victorious at the national convention of the defunct Social Democratic Party-SDP- held in Jos in March 1993. Ambassador Babagana Kingibe who had resigned the chairmanship of the party to contest for the presidential primary gave MKO Abiola a run for his money. With the way the delegate votes were being counted, Kingibe began to peel away votes from both Abiola and Atiku. Then words came from the "godfather" who was watching everything from the living room of Ambassador Yahya Kwande at 18, Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Jos opposite the NUJ secretariat, Jos. To prevent Kingibe from emerging victorious, delegates for Atiku were instructed to switch to MKO Abiola Camp. A trade-off was in the offing. The second night of the national convention was crucial, and the quid pro quo was brokered between Chief MKO Abiola and Atiku Abubakar inside the living room of Kwande, a living room I had visited numerous times as a resident of Jos, Plateau State in the 1980s. Those present: Prof. Jonathan Zwngina, Kolawole Lateef Abiola, MKO Abiola's first son, Ambassador Yahya Kwande, Atiku Abubakar, Chief MKO Abiola and the godfather himself. It was a gentlemanly agreement; MKO Abiola would be the presidential flagbearer of the defunct SDP and Atiku Abubakar would be chosen as his running mate. It was hermetically sealed, signed and delivered!
With the benefit of insight, when the history of the epochal June 12, 1993, presidential election victory of late Chief MKO Abiola and its annulment is revisited again by historians, this was where it started as I noted in all my books on the political logjam. Abiola, a do-gooder businessman had learnt a lot since his days in the defunct National Party of Nigeria-NPN- when he teamed up with the late Chief Akin-Deko to take on the wily strongman of Ibadan politics, Chief Adisa Meredith Akinloye during the tussle for the party chairmanship in 1982. Having had his nose bludgeoned and told by Suleman Takuma, Umaru Dikko and his other bete noire that the party was not for the highest bidder, Abiola quit the party and politics for good. But as a political wheeler-dealer, he soon had his comeuppances when he sponsored the coup detat of August 27, 1985, that brought his friend and the one who annulled his presidential victory to power; Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. However, MKO had developed his own quirks in political horse-trading; it must be simply transactional. When businessmen enter politics, they define their overall goal; when carpetbaggers enter into politics, they rely on godfathers to reach their main goal, but when professional politicians arrive, they define both the main goal and the various twists and turns to reach the main goal: power. MKO Abiola was fatally flawed in the latter. He should not have entered into a political "accord concordial" to borrow the words of bombastic element Dr Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe at Ambassador Kwande's house in Jos that day when he had no intention of keeping to it. As soon as he returned to Lagos, the 17 governors of the defunct SDP piled pressure on Abiola to pick Ambassador Babagana Kingibe instead of Atiku Abubakar as his running mate and thus reinforced the fears of the northern political "murkety mucks" that MKO Abiola could not be trusted. Abiola hated asking for favors and being dictated to for wherever he was, he must be the boss, the Big Boss. When you have money, plenty of it, you assume you control everything, but not in traditional politics. As we normally say, you do not give your words when you intend not to keep it. Atiku Abubakar got what he lost in 1993 in Abiola when Obasanjo was brought from prison to become president in 1999 as a sop to the Yoruba loss of their illustrious and beloved son; Chief MKO Abiola.
From being a powerful vice president and a cough away from the plum job, Obasanjo's shadow fell on the Waziri of Adamawa, but his sense of entitlement continues to goad him. But not anymore! In this defining moment in Nigeria's chequred political history, the True Lord God Almighty has hearken onto the cries of the poor, the wailings of the orphans, the tears of the fatherless, the weeping of widows, the supplications of the physically challenged and the pitiful conditions of the downtrodden masses of Nigeria to remove permanently once and for all, Atiku Abubakar and his ilk from the scene. He is already distributing money, stolen money of course all over the place. Last week, he sent millions to the wife of late strongman of Ibadan politics, Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu the originator of Amala politics and true to type, he is already holding nocturnal meetings with his co-purloiners, fantastically corrupt politician tapping Raymond Alegho Dokpesi as the future director-general of his presidential campaign organization. The billions that have been stashed away especially in Arabia, Asia and the Far East are being repatriated to Nigeria to buy the "buyable" and further corrupt the system; for this is what Atiku Abubakar does. With Atiku Abubakar at the helms, Nigeria would have gone full cycle and be finished. But this will not happen! With the True Lord God Almighty on the side of the Nigerian people, this Old Cargo has had his putrefied share in Nigeria's failed promises, and it is time we turn the page. Here are what you can do as a man or woman of faith to cleanse up this perennially abused and serially battered nation, but potentially great and prodigiously blessed nation to fulfill her destiny.
First, pray for Nigeria. There is power in prayer. I should know! It was prayer we employed in 1998 to get rid of Sani Abacha. Not a single shot would be fired, I announced it to my co-detainees at the DMI Apapa, Lagos. They thought it was a joke. Prayer works, folks! You cannot report Satan to Satan. Atiku Abubakar and his ilk are children of Belial. They cannot and can never be satisfied with enough because enough is not in their lexicon. Hear the Words of Life: "We shall know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16-20). Like hell, their commodious and enlarged appetites ask for more and more stolen money, the people's commonwealth all the time. They have been at it for long and Nigerians must be self-deluding now that these characters will suddenly have their Damascene Experience. It is already part of their DNA. You see them with big bellies all over; buying houses all over the world like their deceased forbears; Mobutu Sesezeko, Gnassingbe Eyadema, Sani Abacha etc. They cannot sleep without having sexual intercourse with women; young girls as young as their daughters; they even commit incestual crimes because of the demons in them. These are base characters, folks and unleashing these ferocious wolves on the nation will lengthen the agonies and poverty of our people. To redraw and reshape Nigeria for fresh minds and new thinkers to emerge for serious nation building, the likes of Atiku Abubakar and co will and must go. These base characters have made pacts with demons, and they do as their demons instruct them. Nigerians of all hues must rise up instead of kvetching and use the Power of the Almighty to get rid of these leeches and larceners from their public life, otherwise nothing, I mean absolutely nothing will change. We have got to a tipping point when men and women of faith must employ the veritable power of prayer to rescue the nation. Saying resignedly that the True Lord God Almighty will help us when He is waiting for us to cry onto Him so He can move in the land requires us to do something. Please don't tell me "ordinary prayer" will rescue a nation like Nigeria from its evil tormentors. As we say in the Old Gospel hymn, "Prayer is the key, prayer is the key, prayer is the master key; Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer, Prayer is the master key."
The Word of Life summoned and beckoned onto us thus: "�if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). Don't tell me prayers cannot change human situations and circumstances, because I have seen the Divine and Unexplained Hands of the True Lord God Almighty in the lives of individuals, groups of people, organizations, and nations. As the Almighty God has untrammeled powers to change people's lives such as mine for instance and in the lives of numerous souls who were once rebels and followers of Satan; so, I also I have been used and seen His Immanent Powers in turning the fortunes of nations and countries. I saw it firsthand in the defeat and deposition of former military dictator-turned elected head of state; Yahya Jammeh of The Gambia. When some Gambians insisted it was by what they called; "People's Revolution" that would bring the military cretin down in the Smiling Coast of Africa, I counseled the "revolutionaries" to adopt the prayer approach, because I knew it works. Those who pooh-poohed my counsel employed their revolution and the secret police and army of Yahya Jammeh crushed them. As a matter of fact, the Gambian Americans among them were captured and were about to be executed until they sent a dire call to us to help them approach President Obama for help. Rev. Jesse Jackson had to be summoned to The White House to quickly head for Banjul to plead with the Babalawo of The Gambia to spare their lives. Having rescued their butts, the reasonable ones among them came to our side and adopted the Christian Prayer Option we vigorously canvassed and within 18 months, Jammeh became history.
Don't ever discount the veritable power of prayers to the True Lord God Almighty on behalf of your nation. We employed the same principle in Burkina Faso and the same change occurred. Blaise Compaore, whose hands were dripping with the innocent blood of his friend and comrade, Thomas Sankara and numerous Burkinabe he murdered was driven into exile and now facing trial after impoverishing the people of Burkinabe for nearly three decades. The powers of prayers are enormous just as the Holy Bible says: "�The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again, he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth yielded its crops" (James 5:16-18). Just as the prayers of righteous men and women can be deployed to control elemental forces; so, also the effective prayers of genuinely redeemed born-again Christians can stop corrupt politicians such as Atiku Abubakar and his ilk from continuous plundering of Nigeria's commonwealth. You say, why Atiku? Because his own is legendary and anon, we shall reveal his co-travelers in the covetous journey of looting encore. He is desperate to become president to steal more, because of the demons in him and his henchmen. As the Word of Life describes these shady fellows: "For they cannot sleep unless they do evil; they are deprived of slumber until they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until midday. But the way of the wicked is like the darkest gloom; they do not know what makes them stumble" (Proverbs 4:16-19). A friend of mine ran into one of such base characters here in Maryland and told me how pitiful he was in appearance. In years past, he would arrive here with bevy of young girls and went on shopping spree; he would buy cars and give them away back in Nigeria. "What happened to the ugly soul in Maryland that made you guess he is dead broke?" I asked my chum. "Man of God, the stolen money of yesteryears has gone, you know money goes quickly." Now the son of a g.. is back here few days am told promoting the 2023 presidential candidacy of his stealer-in-chief and fellow philanderer of yore! Nigerians, shine your eyes! This circus cannot continue. Nigeria is hemorrhaging profusely. The bleeding cannot be stopped by the same leeches that caused the bleeding in the first place. Enough is enough!
Don't tell me prayers cannot change Nigeria when I saw it firsthand how the power of prayers brought the dour fellow right there now seven years ago. Remember how he was crying and crying all over the place that Nigerians should give him just four years to reshape Nigeria? I was foremost among those who took his weeping, cries and sobbing to the True Lord God Almighty and as soon as Daddy On High told me He would give him the opportunity, we telegraphed it and explained why and how he would become president. For those ardent readers of this column and our various prophecies, I sounded words of caution that, it was because of the disobedience of the one there then that gave the opportunity to him to become president. As I noted in this column on Monday December 29, 2014, the reason Goodluck Jonathan lost re-election was because of his disobedience to the True Lord God Almighty. Here were our exact words: "The second reason the True Lord God Almighty is bringing you back after 30 years- actually you began to reign as president in the spirit realm a year ago as I have noted above that the February 14, 2015, presidential election is mere formality-is because of the disobedience of the current president, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan." If Goodluck Jonathan hadn't disobeyed the Almighty God like King Saul, the first king of Israel, Buhari would never have become president. What is happening now in Nigeria and the mess we are in should be a wake-up call to Nigerians that, Atiku Abubakar at 74 has expired. He will also be moving about crying like Buhari did the other time and if Nigerians fell for that trick, the country is finished! So, I counsel, watch, and pray!
How about the land-locked nation of Burundi? It was prayers, fervent prayers to the Lord Jesus Christ that removed President Pierre Nkunrunziza. I have revealed here how we went into prayer sessions in Toronto Canada during my visit few years ago and the efforts were supplemented with fasting and other spiritual steps taken as directed by the Holy Spirit. The young man refused to heed the warnings given to us by the Holy Spirit and was hellbent in perpetuating himself in power. Don't let me ever hear from your mouth that prayers are just "ordinary words" because our Christian Prayers are words of God that are alive and active, "�Sharper than any double-edged sword, piecing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, judging the thoughts and intentions of the hearts of all humans. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.�" (Hebrews 4:12-13). The same here last year in the United States. The nation's political culture had gone that low that one had to keep children off the tube. The problem was one man: Donald Trump. He brought all of us terribly low, even kindergarteners could not descend so terribly low in public discourse. I knew we must do something, terribly urgent to sanitize our national psyche. You see, since the days of Sani Abacha, I have come to the reasonable and Holy Spirit insightful revelation that there is power in one. Never, please never you underate the power of one. Just as Satan used Hitler to cause the deaths of millions so also the Almighty God can also use one faithful person to change a nation. He used Moses, Esther and many others and He even Himself disclosed: "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none" (Ezekiel 22:30). It doesn't matter the color of your skin, gender, manner of your background and where you came from; for to the Almighty God, there is only one move you can make that will please His Majesty and move mountains in your situations, circumstances and even in the affairs of your nation and He disclosed it plainly: "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6). Knowing how the Almighty Jehovah Lord God works and knowing He cannot lie as the Sovereign Powers of the heavens and the earth and all realms, known and unknown to lesser mortals, I cobbled like minds of us immigrants in the United States and we cried, prayed and fasted to the King of kings and Lord of lords that Mr. Donald Trump should become history. Did the Almighty God hear our prayers? You bet! A week to the most pivotal presidential election in US history, our Overall Daddy in heaven spoke and I heard it clearly: "I have heard your supplications and acceded to your request; Trump is gone." When I raised a prayer squad over America last year; our request was simple: Lord God Almighty, remove this jerk known as Donald Trump from office and let peace reign in the United States of America. The Almighty God created us as His Image and Likeness; it doesn't matter the color of your skin, the language you speak and your gender; His Satisfaction is still the same for all His created beings: "Faith." Second, augment your prayer sessions with bouts of fasting as you can muster because fasting is the greatest and practical demonstration to the King of kings and Lord of lords that we are humbled. It is a way of killing the flesh and honoring the Lord God Almighty. To forgo and punish the flesh without food from 6am to 12 noon at a stretch or from 12noon o 6pm or from 8am to 6pm as you can afford are sacrifices to deny the natural human flesh and body its selfish place like Nigerian selfish leeches. Between May 1 and August 31, 2021, we declared a marathon 123-day fasting and prayer sessions to rescue the soul of the Nigerian nation. Thirdly and finally, state before the True Lord God Almighty the cases of these seven groups of Nigerians and call on Him to avenge them: the poor and homeless, the sick, widow, children, orphans, fatherless and the physically challenged. Space will not permit us to chronicle the veritable powers of prayer and fasting sessions in giving fruits of the wombs to barren women, rescuing those against the law, providing Significant Others to those young men and women who listen to instructions and indeed prayers and fasting to the True Lord Almighty as sure-footed elixirs to many issues and problems of life. Friend, prayers work, fasting works and intercessions work. The True Lord God Almighty has a track record of answering prayers and He hasn't changed. Consequently, in the presidential election coming up in 2023, the likes of Atiku Abubakar shall not rule Nigeria in the Mighty Name of the Father, in the Gracious Name of the Lord Jesus Christ the Son, and in the Awesome Name of the Holy Spirt, Amen.

The precipitous withdrawal of the United States after two decades of occupation are eyesores to the rest of the world that, when the chips are down, no foreign power, outsiders and organizations or otherness will come to develop your nation. Between September 11, 2001, when President George W. Bush invaded that nation and last week when President Joseph R. Biden withdrew our troops, the United States spent $2 trillion on the war against the Taliban. That staggering amount translates to $300million per day. If you divide that amount by head for the poor people of Afghanistan, that translates to $50,000. In the war, 2,300 US soldiers perished, 75,000 Afghan soldiers were massacred while 71,334 civilians died with many unaccounted for. As a matter of fact, the true costs of the war may never be known.
