OSUN 2019 AND 21 LESSONS OF RUSSIA 2018 WORLD CUP TO BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIANS

he World Cup has come and gone. During the one-month duration of unarguably, the most popular and populous soccer fiesta on earth, virtually two third of the world's inhabitants were Putinized. Russia, erstwhile Gilded Cage for 70 years according to Bible prophecy, now under a buccaneering democratic autocrat aiming to redraw the world's socio-political and ideological contours, rolled out the red carpet to host the world, even the biting backlash of economic sanctions notwithstanding. Sitting atop the world's largest crude oil reserves, Putin and his oligarchs showed the world how to properly host the world. But the razzmatazz of the quadrennial game aside, there are subliminal spiritual messages the World Cup has taught us and will continue to teache us every four years. While the soccer train moves to Qatar 2022, we should spare a thought; believers of our Lord Jesus Christ and unbelievers alike; on the timeless teaching we can learn from football against the stark backdrop of the glam and glitz of what is fast becoming the god of this world. Can you believe there are certain parallels between the World Cup and our individual Journey of Life? Let's examine 21 of such diachronic characteristics.

First, when the Bible told us in advance that the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ would be witnessed by every living soul on earth, it was incredulously far-fetched in the minds of the Early Church. Here was the vision Apostle John saw in the Island of Patmos about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: "Look, he is coming with the clouds," and "every eye will see him, even those who pierced him"; and all peoples on earth will mourn because of him." So shall it be! Amen" (Revelation 1:7). It was a world thoroughly disjointed and cocoon within geographical time and space; so, how could all eyes see the Coming of the King at the same time? From the Mouth of the King Himself came the following when asked of His Second Coming by His disciples: "So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the wilderness,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man"(Matthew 24:26-27). How could this be possible in a world no one knew the number of Continents on earth, America was yet to be discovered, Europe slept in fetish ignorance, Galileo's heliocentric ideas were considered madness and no one ever thought of today's globalization, the coming of CNN and mobile phone. See how the world; about 4billion human beings-were glued to their television sets to watch nations passing a round leather ball among themselves with frenzy and ecstasy? Just as football has become a god in this age, the Real God Almighty, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is coming soon and all eyes will indeed see Him. Yes, we will and shall all see Him. For us who are waiting for Him and for those who do not want to have nothing and anything to do with Him; it doesn't matter, we shall all see Him. The Second Advent will elicit joy of fulfill expectations for those of us waiting for our Lord and Savior the King, but shame and damnation to His enemies. Which one are you: the friend of the King or the enemy of the Messiah? It's up to you!

The world Cup thought us something about unity. All those nations that made it to the second round displayed one desideratum: playing as a team, which those eliminated ignored. Why were the Nigerian Super Eagles operating at cross purposes? Why was every member after his own glory? Why was there no unanimity of purpose among their ranks? Because that is how we are at home in Nigeria; you are an Ibo man, I don't want to associate with a Yoruba person, the Hausa-Fulani man is the enemy, blah, blah and blah. Didn't our Lord Jesus Christ command us His disciples thus: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another" (John 13:34). That commandment is both spiritual and practical. Look at nations that are progressing and the people are hardworking and productive; it is love for themselves, for fellow citizens and for their nations. My own country men and women back home in Nigeria drove many of us outside our ancestral home, because of what? Lack of love and America took us in, because of what; presence of Love. Show me a family, an organization, a society, a nation or country and the world that are moving up and progressing and I will show you the great power of Love. When Satan and his demons want to destroy a people, they sow the seed of hatred among the people. You cannot play as a team, if you hate one another. Love is a bond, the glue that drives out darkness and defeat; every success and achievements, including winning the World Cup are reaped through the seed of love. The world needs love more than anything and God is Love ("Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love" I John 4:8).

When anyone tells me his/her life belongs to him/her and can live it the way he/she wants, I laugh. Whoever might have told you that you're the owner of your life is doing you a great disservice. If it is your head that is telling you that you are the owner of your life and you deceptively agreed, you are the most to be pitied. Do you see how the rules were already set by the organizers of the World Cup? Nigerians believed that the Super Eagles should have been awarded a penalty kick against Croatia or Argentina and they protested all to no avail. So also are the rules of the game set by the Great King; the True Lord God Almighty. Were you consulted to be born? Did you choose your race? Who determines your gender? Were you given the opportunity to choose which part of the world to be born? If the Lord God Almighty, the Owner and Giver of life had sent you to North Korea where they eat leaves and grass, what would you do? How would you have felt, if you were given the choice to pick the family to be born into? Did you even know the date you were born or you were told? The Word of Life refers to all these life-defining issues as "purpose in election" (Romans 9:9-13). How can you say your life is yours and you can do whatever you like with it when you don't even know when you were born and when you exit this earthly domain? Just as the players at the World Cup fiestas do not set the rules; my friend, you do not set the rules of life. The moment you leave this planet earth and transit to the Other Side, you don't set the rules anymore. Whoever owns you while you were here owns you on the Other Side waiting for you to take you to where you will spend eternity. That is the rule, my friend. Learn from the life of the Richman and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). It is not an allegory, it is a fact. You can protest, shout, curse, weep, argue, debate and throw bottles on that Day before the Lord Jesus Christ and make up stories why you didn't give your life to Him on this side, but as He Himself said plainly: "Then He told them, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I Am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins." (John 8:23-24).

There is only one referee on the field and so there will be only One Judge on that Day. Just as spectators and crowds at the arena and around the world see loopholes in the officiating of the World Cup and scream but can't do nothing; so it shall be on the Day of Judgment. There is only One Judge and that is Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He said so Himself: "For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him" (John 5:22-23). In the real journey of life, you do not set the rules, just as the referee at the World Cup calls the shots and decides the rules of the game. You may not like Jesus Christ, you may be running away from Him right now and hate those of us telling you about Him, but I guarantee you whether you like it or not, you will have cause to see His Face one last time when you appear before His Judgment Seat. Go and write it down, I guarantee you!

The reality of winners and losers in the World Cup Tournament is emblematic of the real Journey of Life. Brazil was my favorite soccer nation. My Personal Assistant couldn't believe my frenetic and goose electricity watching the Samba Boys, but as soon as they crashed out, to use the words of Neymar, "I didn't want to see any rounded leather stuff around." Such is the stuff of each of us in the journey of life; there will be winners and losers. Do you see that losers are hardly celebrated? The future belongs to winners and champions. As I told my first son, people and history often forgive our past wrongs, if we manage it to the finished line, but the present and future are opportunities for us to make up for past wrongs and enter success. Do you notice that the goal keeper of France got a pass and no one remembers his wrong conceding that stupid goal to Croatia player at 4-2 because eventually his team/nation won the World Cup? Papa Abraham made it to heaven even when he was a liar and an adulterer. David is still revered and treated like a saint even after Bathsheba's blot. Peter the Apostle is still being praised, even after denying the Lord, but compared with King Ahab, or Judas Iscariot. Just as the World Cup teaches us; to make it to heaven is my onerous goal, for in the final analysis I can say, I came, saw, fought, won, conquered and return like Apostle Paul: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7). Do you have that assurance? Will you be a winner or loser in the Journey of Life? Here is the truth; Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the Great Champion, the First and Only Winner, because He conquered Satan, Sin and Death "And the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades." (Revelation 1:18). Don't be a loser; we are the winning team, Oh yes, we are. Join us!

Pursue and define all that matters. Do not de-essentialize your life's raison d'tre. Take the semi-final match between Belgium and France for instance; Belgium played a good game, dominated the first half 58 percent over France, but with all the great moves and domineering position, they couldn't score which is what counts. In the Journey of Life, you can acquire all that needs and possessions to be fleetingly -owned and lived it up: material acquisition, prestige, power, wealth, riches etc, but all are nothing, if you do not know where you will spend eternity. Our Lord Jesus Christ, the True Lord God Almighty in the flesh prcis it off-pat: "What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?" (Matthew 16:26).

Life is one short and what you make out of it is up to you and will ultimately define your final eternal destination. That reality played out poignantly on the field when Umtiti scored the header lone goal between France and Belgium which took France to the final with Croatia. Your main goal in life is to know the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ'; trust me. The rest pursuits and endeavors we dissipate considerable unnecessary time after in life are side shows and are distractions, because if you cannot return to your Creator after your temporary sojourn in this planet earth, you have missed out bigly.

The mighty will fall on that Great Day when we all appear individually before the Judgment Seat of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Who ever thought Brazil would be sent packing by Belgium? Ouch, this is Brazil, the Samba Boys, with Great Neymar, Ronaldo and the rest stars; even Brazil was being touted as a shoo-in for final. Alas, the nation of soccer crashed out of World Cup and was eliminated by Belgium. Our Lord Jesus Christ warned us too of the surprises awaiting the human race on Judgment Day: "And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books" (Revelation 20:12). Is your name in the Book of Life? Don't just assume friend, make sure it is there because the Great Book commended that to us thus: "Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble," (2 Peter 1:10). I didn't read that, I saw it. I will never, ever forget that day inside the military Gulag known as DMI Apapa Lagos on Friday February 21, 1997; I saw my name in red written in the Book of Life; the red being the Blood of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. That was why I abandoned all to follow and dedicate all to Him as my All in All, Hallelujah!

TO BE CONCLUDED NEXT WEEK

OSUN STATE: - "The political battle for the soul of Osun and the next occupant of Bola Ige House will be very contentious. The last time I visited His Excellency, I delivered the message to him. Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola still holds the aces on who becomes his successor. He too has the Senate in his future. Sen. Iyiola Ajani Omisore will never govern Osun State in the current dispensation. Curiously, we see the star of Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode in this state in the near future. He looks more likely as the one that will supplant Omisore soon in the governorship tussle but certainly not in 2019 or 2023. Baba Akande should pray fervently for good health. We saw the mighty and the great converging at Ila-Orangun for a funeral but Baba Akande was missing among the crowd; from presidents, ministers, governors, ambassadors to envoys and political juggernauts going to pay their last respects with his wife welcoming the mourners at Ila-Orangun. Sen. Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke should not entertain the idea of returning to the Government House in 2019. He will not succeed. All past governors of Osun State wishing to return to the seat are chasing wild geese in 2019. First governor of Osun State, Major-General Leo Segun Ajiborisa should move nearer to the Lord more than ever before to witness the year 2019. We warn all tourists that will throng the annual Osun Osogbo Festival to be careful this year as four tourists will be swept away by the river. Chief Abiola Adeniyi Ogundokun needs serious prayer to make it through 2019. Here is the link as revealed in this column by the Holy Spirit on Friday January 06, 2017" All the above were fulfilled; Baba Akande lost his wife as we saw it, and the rest happened as the Holy Spirit showed us last year https://nigeriaworld.com/feature/publication/fayemiwo/010617.html)

Now we want to tell the world what is about to happen in 90 days' time in the Great State of Osun. The outcome of the Saturday September 22, 2018 Governorship Election will be inconclusive, if the ruling APC doesn't make some strategic moves to keep the state in its columns. First, here is the scenario in the Holy Bible as revealed to us by the Most High, notwithstanding the religious persuasions of the candidates. "Now King David was old and getting on in years" (I Kings 1:1-53). Read the full story and identify the three characters enmeshed in succession to iconic King David: Absalom via rebellion earlier on, Adonijah the eldest son and Solomon, the youngest who eventually clinched the ticket and went on to rule Israel for 40 years. In Osun state, we have three "official" candidates: Hon Salaam Najeem Folasayo, the speaker of the house, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti; the secretary to the Osun state government and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, chief of staff to Gov Aregbesola. Alhaji Oyetola eventually clinched the ticket. In the PDP, dancing Sen. Ademola Adeleke made it over a dozen candidates. Here is the bottom line; Osun 2018 is a three-way contest between Alhaji Oyetola of the APC, Sen. Adeleke of the PDP and Sen. Iyiola Omisore of the SDP. There are five other "unofficial" candidates also contesting, believe this please and take note. Like we pointed out in the Ekiti scenario penultimate week, there were three candidates in that race: Fayemi, Fayose and Eleka. But unlike Ekiti, there are seven candidates that are involved here in Osun. The Holy Spirit says Gboyega, Adeleke and Omisore may be those officially on the ballot, but those that will dictate the outcome are: Aregbesola, Adeoti, Ogunbiyi and Folasayo Najeem. If the APC MUST win Osun in the September 22, 2018 Governorship Election, we are told and instructed to tell the party to do these seven things:-

  • Gov. Rauf Aregbesola must come out and campaign as he has never done before and the candidate of the APC- Alhaji Oyetola may win, but it is not guaranteed. As the Word of Life says in I Kings 1:20: "My lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, to learn from you who will sit on the throne of my lord the king after him." Ogbeni's support to the eventual winner is not cast-iron, because he isn't a king but an elected governor.

  • Whatever it will take, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti must be placated. If this man doesn't go out and campaign for Oyetola of APC, the party will lose Osun state. Hear the words of the True Lord God Almighty; "Barak said to her, "If you go with me, I will go; but if you don't go with me, I won't go" (Judges 4:8). Alhaji Adeoti should not accept ADP nomination, but return to the APC. The Holy Spirit says something will happen in Osun state that will brighten and galvanize Adeoti's political fortunes in the Land of Virtues. He may have surmised that after being the state's SSG, Bola Ige House is next. He may become a political has-been if he doesn't return to the APC.

  • Whatever it will take, APC should reach out to Dr Akinade Ogunbiyi of the PDP and win him over just as we told Simon Bako Lalong of APC in Plateau state in 2015 and he followed divine instruction and won by a narrow margin. I don't know how APC will do this, but the party should do this. The Adelekes will spend money as never before.

  • Osun 2018 will be the opposite of the just-concluded Ekiti 2018. As we pointed out in this column before the election, Eleka of PDP lost because of Ayodele Fayose. Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola will win here in Osun because of Aregbesola.

  • Unlike Ekiti 2018 where the election was a three-way contest between two official candidates; Fayemi and Eleka and one "unofficial" candidate; Ayodele Fayose; Osun 2018 on the other hand is a battle royal between three official candidates; Oyetola, Adeleke and Omisore. But there are other four "unofficial candidates" Aregbesola, Ogunbiyi, Najeem and Adeoti in that order in the Osun elections as our prophecy declares.

  • The Holy Spirit says we should tell the APC that no matter what; current deputy governor, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori MUST campaign for the APC candidate; Alhaji Oyetola enthusiastically and she should bless his candidacy. It is a spiritual blessing and divine imprimatur. Here again, those words kept coming over and over again: "Barak said to her, "If you go with me, I will go; but if you don't go with me, I won't go" (Judges 4:8).

  • Finally, we saw in Osun state a different election result compared with Ekiti. While Fayemi won by less than 50 percent, Alhaji Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola of the APC will win by less than 40 percent, if all the above divine instructions are implemented by the APC. The final results will be shared by Oyetola, Adeleke and Omisore in that order.

  • The unofficial and official candidates that will determine the outcome of Osun 2018: Adeoti, Aregbesola, Omisore and Najeem (Below) Adeleke, Oyetola and Ogunbiyi

  • Nigerians, Election Observers and political analysts and pundits are complaining about the influence of money in the recently-conducted governorship election in Ekiti, wait till you see and watch what is about to happen in Ipinle Omoluabi; it is going to be a Naira Tsunami. The Adelekes will spend money as if it is out of fashion for the election, but as the Holy Spirit showed us, if the APC will do what we have told them and follow instructions, Alhaji Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola will manage a razor-thin victory on Saturday September 22, 2018.

Every good product goes through some necessary legally-prescribed quality control and assessment procedures which guarantee the product will serve the intended purpose of the purchaser. This is called warranty clauses. In spiritual matters, warranties cannot be provided, because the purposes prayers, supplications and intercessions are offered can only be made possible by the Lord God Almighty. In this book, the Holy Spirit instructed us to give warranty clauses based on what you the reader must do rather than what is published in this book. The warranty we give is from the Word of God as revealed in the Holy Bible. We know the Holy Bible is the inerrant Word of God. "Since God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent" (Numbers 23; 19) because "God cannot lie," (Titus 1: 2) and "in which it is impossible for God to lie" (Hebrews 6:18c). Consequently, the onus rests on you the reader to do certain things as revealed in this book so that God's Warranty can be effective in your life. In other words, if you obey the commandments of God and do as He directs, His Words alone are His warranties.
