MEMO TO YORUBA LEADERS ON THE CURRENT DANGEROUS ROMANCE WITH MUHAMMADU BUHARI AND THE FUTURE OF YORUBA NATION

ecular knowledge is the ability to gather tons of information that are available around you and afar; synthesize such plethora of news and information which are then distilled for making decisions in all areas of life. While there are many news and information on earth today; gazillions of such news as never seen before in our current world aptly described as the; "Information Age," nothing, absolutely nothing is new on earth. Truth is; no one is re-inventing the wheel of life. We are merely regurgitating all that has been said, written and discovered about the human race often couched in varied linguistic delivery and numerous formats. The Teacher in the Word of Life got it and so gave us the summary and limitations of all earthly knowledge thusy: "What has been said will be again; what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, "Look this is something new?" It was here already, long ago, it was here before our time" (Ecclesiastes 1:10-11). Volunteer anything you think is new that has been said and written; then I will credit you with being the genius of our time.

While there is nothing inherently evil about acquiring secular knowledge in order to fulfill the world's righteousness, just as this writer did having acquired some of the best university degrees available culminating at the zenith of human philosophy in the academy; know this for sure, the colleges and universities on earth do not teach us how to live; we are only taught how to make a living, period! No wonder a renowned author and philosopher told us that; the problem confronting the human race is not about further interpreting the world; rather, how do we change the world? Many have told us what ails the human race; yet the elixir to the multifarious issues plaguing the members of the Homo sapiens on earth is the human heart. The human heart is the central issue; the problematique of the human race; for in it is the genesis of the ills of the fallen children of Adam and Eve of yore. The True Lord God Almighty Who created us rendered the defection of the human heart thus; aftermath of the disobedience of our First Parents in the Garden of Eden: "The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled" (Genesis 6:5-6).

When the Sovereign Lord God Almighty visited us physically here on earth two thousand year ago in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He told us plainly the human heart is the culprit for all our woes as disobedient children of Adam and Eve thus: "For out of the heart come evil thoughts--murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander." (Matthew 15:19). This is why the Book of Life counseled us not to seek earthly secular knowledge in making vital and fundamental issues and matters of life in our individual life and in the lives of our fellow human beings. Why is secular knowledge so inadequate in this context? "Because human knowledge puffs up," (I Corinthians 8:1). So what is far more superior to human knowledge? Again, the Word of Life gave it to us straight: Pursue wisdom, seek for it whatever it will take. Herein is the superiority of Wisdom over secular Knowledge: "Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square; on top of the wall she cries out, at the city gate she makes her speech: "How long will you who are simple love your simple ways. How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings. But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand, since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you- when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you" (Proverbs 1:19-33).

Why is wisdom far greater and potent than knowledge? Because, unlike secular knowledge which mostly prepares us for today and the known; Wisdom on the other hand, tells us what is amiss with the moment and what is ahead of us. As the political brouhaha in the defunct Western Region reached its crescendo in 1961 and 1962; and the venerable Chief Obafemi Awolowo was about to be sentenced to ten year imprisonment by his own kinsman; Justice Sodeinde Sowemimo for treason; the trial judge let out the secret of the whole political persecution: "My hands are tied," he disclosed to the assembled audience at the court house. Chief Awolowo who had both secular knowledge and wisdom presciently gave Nigerians, including his persecutors the highlights of the political journey and how the whole episode would play out in Yoruba Land and the larger Nigerian political landscape thus on September 11, 1963: "for some time to come, the present twilight of democracy, individual freedom and the rule of law, will change or might change into utter darkness. But after darkness - and this is a commonplace - comes a glorious dawn. It is, therefore, with a brave heart, with confident hope, and with faith in my unalterable destiny, that I go from this twilight into the darkness, unshaken in my trust in the Providence of God that a glorious dawn will come on the morrow.

My adversaries might say who am I to think that if I am imprisoned the country might suffer? What if I died? The point, of course, is that I am still alive and will not die in prison. Furthermore, the spirit of man knows no barrier, never dies, and can be projected to any part of the world. This being so I am confident that the ideals of social justice and individual liberty which I hold dear will continue to be projected beyond the prison walls and bars until they are realized in our lifetime. In this connection, I must stress that in this very court room, indeed in this dock and in the entire Federation of Nigeria, the spirit of a new Nigeria is already active and at work. This spirit, working through constitutional means which I have spent the whole of my lifetime to advocate, is sure to prevail, before very long, to the delight, freedom and prosperity of all and sundry." (From "Adventures in Power Book One: My March through Prison" by Obafemi Awolowo [Macmillan Nigeria Publishers, 1985]; pp. 198 ff.

Awolowo's traducers only had secular knowledge which prepared them for the realm of the moment; they lacked Wisdom which is onerously Deistic. Awo had both secular knowledge and Deistic Wisdom which prepared him for his momentary travails and what would come out of the injustice. It is possible for a man to be stupendously rich through corruption and own the whole of Lagos, but lack wisdom that comes from above. This is why the Yoruba people are always meticulous in recognizing anyone as their true leader. Even though we are most prone to self-destruct, because of our high level of Western education and control of the media; we are also bereft of true wisdom which prepares our people for both the immediate future and the aftermath.

A amn is about to take the Yoruba nation into political wilderness and by the time those spiritually gifted to see Tomorrow warn the rest of us, it would have been too late. Throughout the June 12, 1993 political crisis, the venerable Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin, who naturally stepped into late Awo's shoes as Asiwaju of Yoruba Land stuck tenaciously to certain hardcore and non-negotiable principles which the Yoruba people are noted for: Integrity, Justice and Equity. When he was asked by that military brigand; Sani Abacha to nominate people as ministers during the June 12, 1993 debilitating crisis, he did and when we asked him why, he replied that Nigeria was not Abacha's property and those he sent their names were going to serve Nigeria and if Abacha deluded himself that would compromise the principles of June 12, Abacha was sorely mistaken. The old man stuck to his gun and history finally vindicated him. When Pa Abraham Adesanya was the rightful Asiwaju of Yoruba Land, he did not compromise either, even when his own kinsman was the president. Our value systems in Yoruba Land may have been influenced by the mad craze for material acquisition, but the age-long Omoluabi philosophy of the Yoruba race endures forever.

The Yoruba people, of whom I am one, should be careful, extremely careful on our next political move in the geo-political entity known as Nigeria in next month presidential election. The late Chief Obafemi Awolowo insisted that the Yoruba people would not be used and dumped as an ethnic group in Nigeria's geo-political entity. He insisted that he was better, far better in human management, political leadership and the proper administration of people and resources than his other political competitors and he pointed to his unassailable record of achievement for us the Yoruba Race. I would not have been what I am today, if not for the public policy of Obafemi Awolowo as first indigenous premier of the defunct Western Region. He did not "sell" the Yoruba people. He insisted that the Yoruba people would not and never play second fiddle to any ethnic group in Nigeria and he maintained that principle through his meritorious service to us-his people-we the Yoruba Race. He was criticized for not joining them at the center; he saw Tomorrow before the rest of us and he taught us that education was and still is the springboard to development just as Malcolm X told his African-American followers here in the United States as the height of the Civil Rights Movement in the '60s.

It is against the spirit of Omoluabi to play a second fiddle to a political nonentity, a man who hardly reads but want to lead at all costs and is apparently a woeful disaster in post-military Nigeria. It is imbecilic to help put an administration in place and to be pushed to the curbside after using you and your people whom they often deride and poke fun at as garrulous lot and are mostly motivated by money. It is not wise to be taken for a ride by a promise of the presidency in 2023 as quid pro quo after you have just had your nose bludgeoned few years ago by the same person who slept on your couch for days pleading to be supported for the highest office in the land. You must be sick in the head and taken for the proverbial Yoruba fabled Elephant being promised the kingship when all signs and evidence are to the contrary. You must be a complicated idiot to think the cabal actually rates you high but merely uses you to win election then set your people against you and do not need you any more, period! Secular knowledge amounts to nothing without Wisdom and the latter onerously comes from the True Lord Almighty. So I say again to my fellow Yoruba people as the Word of Life admonishes: "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding" (Proverbs 4:7 KJV).

I am pained at how our traditional rulers are henpecked to Abuja by a man of questionable origin, a man without pedigree to be used for political purposes. I know that our value system have been so bastardized and seriously discounted now that virtually every Nigerian, including the Yoruba people has a price in monetary worth. Chief Obafemi Awolowo was the gold standard for ethical and utilitarian politics in Nigeria, and after Oduduwa, he laid the generics for what, how and when to engage in political alliance by the Yoruba Race. Awo laid down three factors for the Yoruba Race in choosing anyone who must talk and engage other ethnic groups on behalf of the Yoruba Nation namely: Character, Competence and Knowledge. Hear Awo: "In private life, before we entrust our personal or business affairs to anyone, we take step to inquire into his qualifications both as to competence and character. Such an inquiry as this is done in private, because what is at issue is a private concern. But the competence and character of politicians must of a necessity be examined in the full glare of public limelight. Because what is at issue is the welfare of the community or nation." Pa Awo warned that the actions of a self-arrogated Leader on behalf of a race devoid of the so-called leaders' lack of character, competence and knowledge would have adverse and far-reaching consequences on the future of millions of souls. Again, hear Our Foremost Leader:"In the management of private affairs, a gross mistake would only affect the fortunes of man or a family or a small group of persons. A serious error of judgment in the management of public affairs might adversely affect the lives and fortunes of millions of people. For this reason, there is need for the competence and character of public men to be subjected to severe and stricter scrutiny - and that mainly in public - than those of persons engaged in private concerns. President Buhari is a liar and a dishonorable man. President Buhari is a carpet beggar and hostage to a cabal. President Buhari is sick and has effectively outsourced the presidency. Yoruba Leaders will be disappointed by their current misadventure, especially the traditional rulers who hitched their wagon to a man with no history and background in Yoruba Land, but mostly motivated by money, personal greed and self-ambition. The manafiki of the feudal lords are unraveling and the feudal outlook of Buhari hasn't changed. The corruption crusade is a charade. Nigeria's corporate existence is direly and terribly being threatened under Buhari. Only a blind person cocooned in a make-believe world of Buhari Land is unable to see the threatening inferno. Nigeria is hemorrhaging. Those who sell the Yoruba Race for their selfish ambition will not live to see another day. They will soon perish and never be heard of again in Yoruba Land nay Nigeria-if we will still have a nation known as Nigeria-as Kigali beckons under Retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

NIDABA 2019:- Our campaign here at the Nigerians in Diaspora Against Buhari Administration a.k.a NIDABA 2019 has been well received by many Nigerians all over the world. We are delighted by the outpouring of support and affirmation of our cause by Nigerians of all hues desirous of rescuing our people from the Next Level of Poverty, Ruin and Disaster. The war we have on our hands is a spiritual warfare so that people of the world and Nigerians in particular may know that there is the Sovereign Lord God Almighty in the heavens and "Blessed be the name of God forever and ever; for wisdom and might are his. And he changeth the times and seasons; he removeth kings and setteth up kings; he giveth wisdom unto the wise; and knowledge to those that know understanding. He revealeth the deep and secret things; he knoweth what is in the darkness; and the light dwelleth with him." (Daniel 2;19-22 KJV).

Here are samples of tons of email from Nigerians on NIDABA 2019:

Dear Dr.Fayemiwo. You are doing great works for the Lord and humanity. God will continue to bless your life and ministry in Jesus name Sir, I am a regular reader of your column on Nigeriaworld, I found the invitation to join NIDABA as an opportunity to be part of God's army against despotic ruler. Victory belongs to the Lord and by the grace of God we shall win. Yours faithfully--- From Kayode Olabiyi via email, Ogun State, Western Nigeria.

Hi Dr Fayemiwo , I agree with you that it's time TTBO (throw the bums out) in Nigeria this February . Until our people effectively do the TTBO for a non-performing administration, the fruit of democracy will never be reaped in Nigeria. About two weeks ago Atiku made it known that Buhari's family had a stake of over $1.9 billion in Skye Bank of Nigeria and it was copiously reported in nigeriaworld.com that some new palatial buildings in Daura GRA are owned by the Buhari clan . Heck , what corruption is Buhari talking about ? Tunde Tinubu of APC converted Lagos State property into his own house on Bourdillion Road in Ikoyi and he Tunde has a private jet now. His companies execute over 20 billion Naira contract yearly for the Lagos State government. Are we Nigerians in Diaspora voting this time around ? I can't wait to cast my vote to throw those bums out even though I have been resident in New York for almost 30 years, but I have folks back at home that I can influence and talk to. Thanks for your service to our Fatherland, Moshood, Best Regards-- From Maroof Bello . Author : Bible & Quran - A Numinous (Hilarious) Comparison (2016), New York City, NY USA.

Dear Dr Moshood Fayemiwo, I have been an ardent reader of your column over the years and have seen how God Almighty has used you and still using greatly in the affairs of our potentially great country Nigeria. I have read virtually all your articles in Nigeria World and I'm grateful to God for the divine connection to follow your write-ups, May God continue to bless and keep you Sir. I earnestly look forward to a New Nigeria which I believe would soon be birthed as Nigeria is strategically preserved to play a major role in the Second Coming of our Lord and master Jesus Christ. I personally do not believe Atiku is the answer to solving Nigeria's problems and I believe God Almighty who reveals things to you would already have shown that to you. However may the will of Almighty Jehovah be made manifest. It's been sorrow; tears and blood under the Buhari administration and like you rightly have said, I also believe his time is up from February 16, 2019. I would love to partner with you on this move and would require the necessary information for this NIDABA Spiritual Movement. God bless you sir--From Doubra Porbeni, South-Eastern Nigeria via email and mobile contacts.
