DO THE VERY HIGHLY SPIRITUAL PEOPLE NEED THE PRAYER SUPPORT OF OTHERS?

ould there be someone who is highly spiritual and self dependent, who does not need the prayer support of other Christians?

To the Thessalonians Church, Paul said: "Brethren pray for us (1Thess 5:25). To the Corinthians Church in 2Cor 1:11, Paul wrote: "But you must help us too, by praying for us. For much thanks and praise will go to God from you who see His wonderful answers to your prayers for our safety"

The very night when the Lord was to be arrested, He had gone with the eleven to "a place called Gethsemane" (St Matt 26:36). He, with Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, left the others and went a distance away to pray. He (The Lord) proceeded a further distance leaving Peter, James and John with a charge: "tarry ye here and watch with me" (26:37).

The Lord returning to the disciples met them sleeping and perhaps in a disappointing tone said to Peter: "What! Could ye not watch with me one hour?" This scenario indicates to me that even the Lord cherished the prayers of others for Him.

If Paul, whose handkerchiefs and parts of his clothing, healed the sick and cast out demons (Acts19:12), desired and asked fellow Christians to pray for him; if the Lord asked His disciples to watch with Him, who then is that highly spiritual Christian, who will not need the prayer assistance of fellow Christians?
