igerian singers/artists are making a big wave around the world. Many are so gifted that even in a place like USA, their music repertoire has become house hold, not just amongst the Nigerian community but African community and USA.
One of such artists is Kizz Daniels. I did not know about him until I observed sometime in 2022 that every party I attended a certain song was played and people danced the song in synchronicity. Then I started seeing more people on social media playing and dancing to the song. It is called Buga. For some reason, I got hooked and picked up the dance style too. It was at this point that I googled the music and found out that it was by one Kizz Daniels. Ever since, I developed a lot of interest in him and his music. I attended a birthday celebration in Boston where the music was played and practically everyone got up and danced in unison.
Then before we knew it, the young man dropped another bomb of a music!- Cough(Odoyewu). That one floored me completely. Before now, I mainly reprised/played and sang old time songs but his string of hits got me to change. I first played the Buga just with an acoustic guitar and made it into a Facebook reel. In a few days, thousands of views of the reprise had occurred. It dawned on me that I was not the only one enjoying the young mans songs.
So, I went further and played and sang his latest song called Cough- Odoyewu. Now, that one is also garnering a lot of attention as a Facebook reel. I must say that these young Nigerian musicians are putting the name of the country on the map positively and should be encouraged.
Enjoy my version of Cough(Odoyewu) by Kizz Daniels on Facebook where you will also find my reprise of Fada Fada by Phyno/Olamide
