NIGERIA: A COUNTRY WHERE WICKEDNESS TRIUMPH OVER RIGHTEOUSNESS AND EVIL OVER GOOD

advertisement

ndeed, Nigeria is a mystery country, a nation where wickedness and evils have triumphed over righteousness. An intricate look at Nigeria would reveal a story of a complex people on the guiles of multi-religious facets but bedeviled by envy, selfishness, hate, wickedness and cruelty. If there is any evidence of the above connotation, it is practically obvious in Nigeria. Nigeria is a nation where many have become extremely wealthy by deceptions, lies, stealing, and fraud and through the blood of the innocent ones. It is a nation where demonic entities have replicated themselves into human elements to kill, main, and destroy. Nigeria is a nation where Islamic cult and infatuation has drifted into an abyss of human cruelty. It is a country where those who have been given the responsibility to lead and manage the affairs of the nation have rendered the lives of the people useless. It is a nation where those who have chosen to adopt biblical injunctions and precepts have become victimized by ardent poverty and societal rejection. Nigeria is a country where those with good moral aptitude have been traumatized and classified as dumb, timid, and failures.

It is a nation where wickedness has become the bedrock of the society. Though the credibility of the nation and its reputation has crashed into oblivion, I believe that there are still some few Nigerians who have chosen to live by the fear of the lord. Ironically these individuals watch in a twist of faith as those who engage in all manner of wickedness continue to flourish and prosper. These are the sons and daughters of perdition who have plunged the nation into anarchy and chaos. They are the nation's leaders who have subjected the lives of the masses to perpetual fear, hunger, disease and poverty. Many families have been rendered extinct for lack of security or protection from the government that is presumed to be elected by them. As these leaders scramble to steal and divide oil money, they have left Nigerians vulnerable to both external and internal attack. These are the ones who have killed the poor, widows, and orphans, to enlarge their territories. .Their hearts are filled with lies, deception and unimaginable evil and yet their prosperity has no boundaries.

They build ultra-modern homes in different locations across the country and stuff them with choice of luxury cars. They flourish illegitimate businesses through which they embezzle the nation's monies and stow them away in foreign nations. They feed sumptuously and they watched the poor, and the downtrodden die in penury. They shroud themselves with guns, bombs, and tanks to avoid public reprisal. Many of them are honored by their communities, for been the most valuable citizens. They are appointed as chairmen and chair ladies on important occasions to preside over serious matters. Their properties are spread in choice places across the nation. Their Children are trained in the best institutions around the world. To everyone's amazement, wickedness is no longer a sin of retribution as widely believed. The righteous is amazed by this turn of events and they continue to ponder questions in their minds. Their question is where is the God of justice? Why would God allow such wickedness to persist? Has God forgotten the righteous? Where is the punishment that he has promised to the wicked?

History has extrapolated the fact that man has always been in conflict with his creator and in many cases Wickedness has appeared to triumph over righteousness. The same questions had been asked by men of old who were great men of God. They wondered why God would allow the wicked to obtain riches by deceptions and yet enjoy and flourish with such riches. Prophet Jeremiah was one of those who registered such question before God. "Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? Wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously? Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins. Jeremiah 12:1-2. The book of Psalm 73:4-12 clearly showed the story of a man called Asaph who had lived a life of honesty and dedication to God, he feared God in all his conduct but yet he was poor. He had witnessed the travail of the righteous and the success of the wicked. Because of this Asaph almost backslides. Psalm 73:2-3 Asaph declared, "as for me, my feet came close to stumbling, my steps had almost slipped".

For I was envious of the arrogant as I saw the prosperity of the wicked". He could not understand and therefore he continued in the book of psalm 73:4-12. 4 "For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. 5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. 6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. 7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. 8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily. 9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth. 10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them. 11 And they say how doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High? 12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches". Asaph in his quest to understand this difficult situation had to seek God personally. Psalm 73:16-17 "When I thought how to understand this, It was too painful for me 17 until I went into the sanctuary of God; Then I understood their end."

There are lots of Nigerians today that are asking the same question, judging from the degree of wickedness in the nation. One of the respondents to my recent commentary on ritual killings asked: Dear Evangelist; As I read this article, I asked myself, "where is the Almighty God"?- Kunle. Though there may not be a simple or satisfactory answer to this dilemma, it is very important to understand that at the end of all these, there is death. In death there is the inescapable judgment. The outcome of that judgment would be determined by the life the individual has lived here on earth. Though the days of the wicked may seem to be long on earth it cannot be compared to their eternal torment enveloped in perpetual darkness the moment they depart from this world. Their wickedness may pay off here on earth but at the end, the reward of it is unimaginably catastrophic. No matter how rich a man has become, his days on earth are numbered. In Psalm 37:1-2 "fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green.

Evidence has shown that since the devil has become the prince of the world, man must have to struggle between good and evil or light and darkness. And so God in his holy book has laid down his rules by which all the moral tenets of man must be guided. The difference between God and the Devil is that God would not subjugate anyone to obey his commandment but the devil does by trickery, lies and deception. The Devil does that sometimes by offering instant gratification, in other word, reward. From Biblical analysis, one is made to understand that the devil is the prince of the world and therefore he has the power to reward anyone with money, wealth, position, long life, health, and fame with a deadly price and knowing fully well that the ultimate end of that reward is eternal torment in hell. Evidence of the devil's power to give wealth can be seen in the book of Matthew 4:8-10 8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, "All these things I will give you if you will fall down and worship me." 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. In this case one is made to understand that the devil has the power to give wealth.

Though God is not so much interested in rewarding anyone with earthly material wealth he has prepared his reward for all humanity according to their conducts here on earth at the end of time. The first judgment would come the moment an individual departs from this world in the form of physical death and the final one would come at the end of time when all humanity would stand in judgment before him to account for the way they lived their lives on earth. "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation" John 5:28-29. "And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt" Daniel 12:2. It is absolutely correct that the Nation is bedeviled by all kinds of unspeakable wickedness, from the leadership level to the ordinary man on the street. A lot of Nigerians believe that they are smart enough to con God. They lie, steal, kill, and maim in the name of money.

They turn around and try to pacify God by donating buildings and churches, orphanage homes, and huge sum of monies to churches. Many have vowed that if God would make them become presidents, governors, ministers, parliamentarians, commissioners, and head of local government they would not hesitate to steal the money entrusted in their care and of course share part of it with God by donating to Churches and orphanages. Some may have also vowed that if only they can fulfill the demand of the voodoo doctors in providing the body parts of their fellow human beings, they would become wealthy and also would not hesitate to part with that wealth to God in form of tithe and offerings to Churches. Unfortunately in their psychotic and delusional mind, they actually believe that the God of creation, who abhors evil in its entirety, would succumb to their evil indulgence. Though many of them have actually succeeded and they have not failed in their vows, the fact is that they have montaged their souls to the Devil for eternal damnation in hell fire. With the butchering of innocent Nigerians by Islamic agents of Lucifer, and the proliferation of human body parts everywhere in the nation by ritualists, it is absolutely clear that the devil is granting them their request in exchange for their own souls. The politicians are not exempt from this, as they have turned thieves and robbers and plunged the nation into a criminal zone in pursuit of wealth and power. Many of them have all paid their vows to their spiritual mothers and fathers in churches across the nation.

Therefore it is not surprising to see pastors, bishops, arch-bishops, prophets and prophetess living large in Nigeria. Their edifices can be seen from a distance. Many have built empires and are flying around the world with private jets worth millions of dollars. In a country where 80% of the population lives below poverty level, these men of God would not hesitate to commission their own Universities, colleges, fleet of cars, private Jets and mansions worth billions of naira. The question is where is the source of this money? Without doubt, it is the money from the vows made by those criminals who have turn the nation into economic desolation and rendered the lives of their people into a condition of worthlessness. They are the ones that have butchered the blood of the innocents for money. They are happy because to them as long as the men of God have accepted those offerings, they have paid their dues to God.

However their days are numbered. The anger of the lord is kindled against them for their wickedness and he is waiting patiently for their souls. Unless they repent and make restitutions, it shall be indescribably horrible for them in the Day of Judgment. James, 5:1-9 now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you. 7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near. 9 Don't grumble against one another, brothers and sisters or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! Those who have killed and contributed to the terrible situation in the nation of Nigeria including all the men of God who have compromised their faith will not escape the Judgment of God. It's just a matter of time.
