t seems to me that any time the issue of homosexuality is raised; the pro homosexual movement will immediately raise an eye brow. They would register their protest against what they popularly refer to as hate and bigotry. Many have accused some men of God who had taken their stand against such behaviors as judgmental, and hateful. Because of this, majority of these men of God have compromised their faith. Before I proceed, I would like to express my respect and honor to the Disciples of Christ and those early Christians who were martyred as a result of their unflinching faith and stand against the violent idolatry government of Rome. Please if you are reading this commentary, I would be glad if you can observe a one minute silence in honor of these great men and women of God. It is most unfortunate that many Christians have re-written their own bible and they have miss-represented the lord Jesus Christ as one who would endorse all kind of sins and abominations.

Many have argued that it is simply not by works but the righteousness of Christ. They propagate a dangerous heretic doctrine which implies that it does not matter anymore how one should conduct his/her life as long as such individual is considered born again by accepting Christ as lord and savior. I have chosen to exclude the Muslims because I believe Islamic religion is satanic. It is not surprising in Nigeria to see that the moral fabric of the nation has decayed even with the profession of Christian faith. There are probably more churches in Nigeria today than any other part of the world but yet, the country is bedeviled with idolatry, hate, high rate of divorce, embezzlement of public funds, stealing, kidnapping and ritual killings. Apart from the Nigeria episode, it is widely believed that the church has lost its original commission. A call for repentance and messages of salvation has been replaced with messages of material wealth and prosperity. The most painful one is that Christ is no longer addressed as the son and Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world and that the only way to the kingdom of God is through him alone. The subject here is the bone of contention which is the widely accepted messages of deception proliferating in churches today.

There is a spiritual element to this, because there is a system well organized, and intricately planned in the kingdom of darkness to wreak the church of its mission and fabrics of holiness in order to send souls to perdition. So far the devil is making serious progress. Believe it or not, many unbelievers and Christians are dying and going to hell in an unimaginable proportion. Today there are millions of true Christian religious leaders around the world and among them are con- artist, deceivers, satanic massagers, and of course self-acclaimed prophets. Many Christians are trapped in the web of spiritual deception and conspiracy. As everyone tries to attain some degree of material success, it has become a tool used by some pastors to hypnotize their members by making them to believe that giving to their churches; material prosperity is guaranteed for them. They authenticate this by flaunting their wealth and the wealth of some members of their congregation. None of these apostles would speak about any spiritual wellbeing of their members.

They would never mention any scriptures that speak against sin and the consequence of it. They engaged in spiritual craftiness which often times is manifested in preaching and prophesying giving their members some utopia promises for the purpose of exploitation. Even when it is obvious that these preachers have had problems with regards to their moral and spiritual integrity, yet members still continue to flood their sanctuaries. Historic evidence has shown that from all indications the lord Jesus Christ was more radical in his stance on holiness. John 2:15-17 "And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; 16 and to those who were selling the doves He said, "Take these things away; stop making My Father's house a place of business." Christ was vehemently opposed to behaviors, attitude or an act of moral indulgence that tends to derogate the position of GOD. He demonstrated this among the Jews. In another episode, Christ became extremely angry with the people of Chorazin and Bethsaida in Matthew 11:20-24. Then began he to upbraid the cities, wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not, 21. Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which have been done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented of their crimes long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22. But I say to you, It will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon 36 in the day of judgment than for you. 23. And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted even to heaven shall be cast down even to hell; for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24. But I say to you, that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom 37 in the Day of Judgment than for thee.

Here the lord Jesus Christ had to emphasize the need for repentance and anything that is short of that would certainly result into terrible judgment. The lord Jesus Christ demonstrated the true character of God in his preaching and conducts and that legacy was passed on to the disciples and those who had chosen to follow him. It is the responsibility of a true man of God to correct and rebuke according to biblical injunctions. Apostle Paul reiterated this in his letter in 2Timothy 4: 1-3, I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. A true disciple of Christ must not compromise his/her faith and must not be deterred by popular resentment. The only way to express a true love for an individual is to be honest and truthful though sometimes it can be hurtful. Proverb: 27: 6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

There must be an obvious difference between that which is of God and that of the devil. The reason homosexuality, stealing, fraud, murder, hate, adultery, fornication, idolatry, and all kind of sins have become prevalent in Nigeria, is simply because the church has failed in its original commission. Have all the homosexuals, thieves, fraud, kidnappers and ritualist in Nigeria repented of their sins? Without repentance, change of lifestyle and acceptance of a free gift of salvation, it is absolutely impossible to enter the kingdom of God. A true repentance is to extricate oneself from evil practices. Zacchaeus was a wealthy Jewish tax collector but as soon as he accepted Christ, he repented and was prepared to make restitution. He declared in Luke 19: 8, and Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. Instantaneously Zacchaeus had become a changed man. He was no longer the same fraudulent tax collector.

That is a true repentance! It is pertinent to note that though it is absolutely impossible to live a life of perfection before God, there must be a clear distinction between occasional mistakes which constitutes one's imperfection and one's deliberate or willful act of disobedience. A deliberate act of disobedience represents an attitude of a conscious mind with regards to conduct or behaviors or a persistent habitual engagement without respect, regards, or heed to the moral law of God. History has documented in the Old Testament that while God was patient in some aspect of human disobedience he was also very furious in other aspect of it. The event of Noah's time clearly reminds us of how the earth was wiped out by God because of sin but after which he made a covenant with Noah that he would not be in conflict with man anymore. It is important to know that after many years of God's promises, a nation would once again incur the wraght of God, not because they were imperfect but because they had engaged in homosexuality which was an act of terrible abomination unto God. That nation was Sodom and Gomorrah.

It was told that two angels of the lord were sent to Sodom in order to carry out the judgment of God against the people. As the angels arrived in the city they met lot who was Abraham's nephew. Oblivious of the angel's mission, Lot persuaded the two angels to pass the night in his house. In Genesis 19: 4-7, But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter : 5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. 6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,

7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. 8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. From the story, it was clear that the people had tried to have sex with the angels of the lord in spite of the fact that lot had offered them his virgin daughters. Genesis 19: 11-13, 24. And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. 12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: 13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it. 24 Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; from the above story, it is clear that the people had tried to have sex with the angels of the lord in spite of the fact that lot had offered them his virgin daughters.

There is no doubt in my mind that because humans had become so civilized and attained some levels of intellectual, material, and technology development , they have come to challenge the dictate of the moral and spiritual lay down principles (law) of the supreme being, the God of the universe. This is not an issue of the Nigerian president signing into law the criminalization of a behavior repugnant to the moral and ethical wellbeing of the human race; it is also the fact that such behaviors constitute danger and a curse in all human ramifications. Without any religious applications, this can clearly be understood by simple rational mind or right thinking. This is not an issue of a debate but facts and objectivity. I believe that those who plead their indulgence to engage in such despicable act of homosexuality should be placed in a secluded rehabilitation facility for mental treatment and moral counseling. One does not need to belong to any religious group or affiliation to be able to distinguish between what is right and wrong. Animals are not religious but they are pre-disposed to acting out their natural chemistry on opposite sex. There is a part of human mentation or excogitation that regulates the human conduct.

An ability to know what is good and evil. This is called the human "MIND OR CONSCIENCE." One does not need to believe in God in order to understand that stealing, adultery, and murder, are wrong. Humans are created with natural propensity to choose between good and evil, the ability to recognize evils, and all other things that may pose dangers to oneself and other members of the society. That is the reason why rules and regulations are established in every organization, community, nations and the comity of nations in order to regulate such human conducts. Homosexual behavior should not be accepted as a moral choice or a civil right but should be looked at as an act that negate the natural law of chemistry and poses a serious danger to the wellbeing of a nation.

Below are some of the reasons why homosexuality should remain criminalized in Nigeria and every other part of the world. Among other things these are some of the evils of homosexual behaviors:

It promotes an un-natural moral behavior that negates the conduct of a universal moral law.

It relegates and opposes the purpose of creation which is pro-creation.

It produces a negative impact in the minds of children as to what is the difference between man and woman and the purpose for such sexual disparities as it relates to pro-creation.

It produces mental and psychological torments on the mind of those who are involved in such practices as they constantly struggle to come to terms with their true identity.

It promotes sexual violence, immorality, crime, promiscuity, and the spread of diseases such as Aids Gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, the "gay bowel syndrome" (which attacks the intestinal tract), tuberculosis and cytomegalovirus, syphilis, cancer and etc...

It promotes un-natural sexual abuse on oneself and other persons.

It produces mental disorder resulting in other social abnormalities like heavy drinking, hard drugs, smoking, and suicidal thought.

Above all, it is an abomination unto God. It is not only a sin at the highest level, it is a sacrilege, and must incur the wraght of God. Leviticus 20: 13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. I am not a medical specialist and therefore do not have all the comprehensive information about the health hazards posed by this terrible behavior. Condoms offer only limited protection.3- Homosexual men face a significantly higher risk of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, anal cancer, gonorrhea and gastrointestinal infections as a result of their sexual practices.4 Men who engage in sodomy are 860% more likely to contract a sexually transmitted disease (STD), increasing up to 500% their risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. Men who commit acts of sodomy with men have large numbers of anonymous partners, which can result in rapid, extensive transmission of STDs. Many innocent victims suffer the health consequences associated with sodomy as a result of blood transfusions, rape and having normal sexual relations with those who have committed unnatural relations with others. While men of all ages who commit sodomy with other men remain at an alarming risk, young bisexual men are said to be a significant "bridge" for HIV transmission to women.7 - Women who commit sex acts with other women face a significantly higher risk of bacterial vaginosis, breast cancer and ovarian cancer than heterosexual women.8 The spread of Human Papilomavirus (HPV) is not prevented by condoms.
