Death of Senator Isaiah Balat



t is with shock and deep sorrow that the Southern Kaduna People in the Diaspora, USA (SOKADUSA) learnt of the sudden death of Senator Isaiah Balat, former Minister of Works & Housing and until his demise, was the Special Adviser (Special Duties) in the office of the Presidency, with the Vice President. We are all troubled with this sorrowful news and helplessly wonder why such a strong leader's life from his family, people and community reached its terminal end so very soon. Settling with this reality is very tough for us to know that our beloved Senator Isaiah Balat is gone! Senator Isaiah Balat will be missed by his family, the people of Kaduna State, Nigerians and all well-wishers and admirers.

A well-established fact is known that Late Senator Balat rendered immense contributions to his community, Kaduna State and his efforts in building and sustaining Nigeria's democracy. Throughout his service to his people and country, Senator Balat has shown a leadership style of resolve in navigating through the tough issues plaguing his community, Kaduna State and country, by being pragmatic, diligent, and strategic in goodwill while in dialog as an affable political leader in the struggle for fairness, equity and justice for all. His outstanding contribution to democratic ideals for independence of the Southern Kaduna people, Kaduna State Citizens, Northern Nigeria and the entire country cannot be over emphasized. Having served as a Law maker, Minister and special adviser in the presidency, Senator Balat has given us all through his life sacrifices, ideal democratic values. These sacrifices will forever remain engrained in his place as his historic legacies in building our community and society at large.

SOKADUSA mourns deeply the loss of this illustrious son of their community who was, a husband, father, friend and leader. Our heartfelt condolence to his immediate family; Agwatyap - HRH Engr. (Dr.) Harris Bungon; the entire Atyap Community; the people of Zangon Kataf Local Government; the People of Kaduna State and Nigeria in general.
