ON WHOSE SIDE IS GOD?
Let us consider the following:
he natural question that would arise is - on whose side will God be? Perhaps, the question should actually be, will God take sides with either of these parties? Does God take an interest in interfering with the workings of an infallible law that He has put in place to run the world? The answer to this question would vary depending upon one's conception of God, life, and justice.
In a previous article, The Reconciliation of Good and Evil, this writer maintained that God does not judge us but did set up the rules that apply to the life we live. The article further maintained that the law of life applies impartially across the board, and that one is always responsible for his or her action. What is good or evil is always peculiar and sometimes dependent on one's perception, hence some masters have said; do unto others, as you would have them do unto you. Others simply state that whatsoever a man sows, that shall he reap. Even yet, some say for every action, there is a reaction, while some others say, as you make your bed, so shall you lie on it.
Regardless of the denotation or connotation of the definition one prefers to give, it is obvious that the one who gives love and compassion to his fellow men, will get love and compassion in return, while the one who inflicts pain and cruelty on his fellow men, will get pain and cruelty in return, either in this life or the next, there is no escaping of the law. It is usually common for man in his limited memory and conception of the events of life to quickly make conclusions and react to events without considering the bigger picture, which would reveal more than he would ordinarily conceive. We are used to reacting to reactions, without taking time to consider or reflect on previous or hidden deeds that brought a situation to bear - the unknown or forgotten cause that brought about the present popular effect.
A more wholesome view of life with a neutral state of consciousness would save us from reacting in manners that only create more entanglements for us. God loves us and will neither take sides nor abandon us. He did set up the rules to guide our existence upon our sojourn here. He will let the law take its course whenever we cause a reaction. That way, we would learn and improve ourselves. This is only the understanding of this writer and he is still learning.
ON WHOSE SIDE IS GOD?
And so the prayer goes on in camps
Begging the Almighty God's support
To strike down the opposing fighter,
And each fighting party places its hope,
On might of the same and only God,
To upon the enemy strike vengeance,
But whom shall God Almighty strike
When He is Love and only Love,
And has made no one His enemy?
But whom shall God Almighty strike
When in His love He has made all,
And has nothing but love for all?
Now shall God Almighty pitch a camp,
And take side with one of His own,
To bring vanquish upon the other?
Shall God Almighty worry with man,
When He had set the law in time
To guide man from the start of time?
Or shall He let these events unfold
To take their course and go around,
For the laws of life to apply to all?
Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient,
Are the attributes of God Almighty
Who is too much to take any side.
