AVOIDABLE SUFFERING IN THE HANDS OF CERTAIN SELF STYLED DELIVERANCE MINISTERS---PART 1

Preface:

he Bible makes no pretence of the power of the spirit princes of the air (Daniel 12:13), followers of Lucifer, one of the arch-angels of God who rebelled and who God cast out of Heaven with his detachment. He has been opposing God and His creation, afflicting horror on man ever since. Lucifer has legions of his followers in witches, wizards, magicians, sorcerers and several cults etc that torment man.

The Bible recognizes them as principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph. 6: 13)

Curses are real:-generational, ancestral or whatever name or definition, which may apply. Evidences abound in the Scripture and they were devastating in their operations and they are, till today.

In the coming weeks, however I want to point out that such curses, should become irrelevant, ineffective and inconsequential the moment a person genuinely becomes a Christian. The curses vanish instantly at the Cross and the Christian should have his peace and shouldn't be intimidated by them (the curses) any longer, however much they (the curses) may operate in the lives of other members of the family who haven't been born again. I hear someone says "What simplicity!" But that is what the message (gospel) brought by Jesus Christ is all about. He took and bore all the complexities on Himself so that we may become free and have peace. It is really unfortunate that some people often introduce complexities and be-labour a subject that need not be.

I should like to explore from the Scripture what benefits are contained in the package, which becomes ours when we come to Christ.

It is very important for every Christian to grasp this truth properly in order to avoid unnecessary and unwarranted humiliation from the devil and also from those who are consulted for deliverance, who often over flog and so much be-labour the subject. The only power of deliverance is in the blood of Jesus and confession of faith on the part of the believer.

I will be explaining that curses or spells of evil and wicked people should have no influence on the Christian as long as the Christian does not break the hedge or barrier surrounding him (Eccl. 10:8).

On the other hand, many of the agents of Lucifer referred to earlier, are all over the places, who camouflage as angels of light (2 Cor.11:13-15), they decieve people with their sweet mouths and boast of power, which in reality they do not possess. Unfortunately, due to ignorance, many who nurse the idea of a curse on them seek refuge from these same very set of people; angels of Satan who further compound their problems.

First, let us study the the Contents of our Salvation Package.

We can hardly exhaust all, which we gain and the benefits we derive when we come to Christ. They are enormous. However, let us take a very brief quick delve in to the Scripture to see what happens when anyone becomes a Christian, especially those that are relevant to the subject under discussion.

  • He is no longer condemned, (St. John 3:18) but justified i.e. made right with God and has peace with Him (Rom. 5:1; Rom. 8:1).

  • Reconciled to God (Rom. 5:12; 2 Cor. 5:18; Col. 1:21).

  • Before, not a people i.e. less than nothing. Not known mercy but now obtained mercy (1 Peter. 2:10).

  • Born again, not of corruptible seed i.e. his salvation is not passed to him by parents (1 Peter. 1:23) (John 1:12).

  • Becomes a child of God (John 1:12; 1 John 5:1).

  • Becomes a new creature i.e. brand new person inside. Old things are passed away, all things are become new (2 Cor. 5:17).

  • A chosen generation, Royal priesthood i.e. priest of the King. A holy nation, a peculiar person i.e. God's very own (1 Peter 2:9).

  • Redeemed of the Lord (Isaiah 62:12; St. Luke 1:68; Gal. 4:5; Titus 2:14) not with corruptible things as silver and gold. God paid a ransom with the precious blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19).

  • Delivered from the power of darkness and translated in to the Kingdom of His dear Son (Col. 1:22).

  • The power of devil over him who had the power of death is broken (Heb. 2:14).

  • No one can lay any charge against God's elect i.e. No one can accuse the Christian of anything (Rom 8:31, 33). In other words, he is discharged and acquitted i.e. declared free from every guilt that could arise from his previous misbehaviours, declared free from his previous association and covenants, made by himself or by others on his behalf. Declared free from all curses, including those rampaging on his generation.

  • He is more than a conqueror (Rom. 8:37)

  • The Lord is his refuge and fortress (Psalms 91:2).

  • The Lord is with him as a mighty terrible One (Jer. 20.11).

  • He has everlasting life (John 3:16).

If we take some deep thoughts and a careful analysis of the quotations above, we will see that a whole lot took place when anyone comes to Christ.
