hat do you think Nigeria as a nation can do to guide against such act (same sex marriage)?
At the beginning of man, the system of government was 'Theocracy' i.e God ruling through Priests. Later, the people of God decided on their own to be governed by kings. But God did not abandon man to his recklessness. So He left them with checks & balances. He put Prophets in place to guide and check the excesses of the government. They should be there always to seek the face of God and tell both the government and the governed the laws of God. King David said "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Psalm 119:11).
God makes Priests on both sides of the isles 'Watchmen" who should never hold their peace but pray day and night, continually, taking no rest, keeping not silent, giving God no rest, till He establishes, and make the nation a praise in the earth.
But for the system to work, the Priests on both sides of the isles must not compromise their duty. They must be bold to speak the truth at all time.
Paul reminded Timothy, his spiritual son about his pastoral duty "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom;
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine (2Timothy 2: 1-2)
Unfortunately, many of the Priests on both sides of the isles in Nigeria, take religion as a way to get rich and this is the danger we face.
So many factors contributed to where America is today; a country once known as a Christian nation, which has sent thousands of missionaries across the globe, which inscribes on every of her monetary coin and notes "In God we trust" which has the ten commandments of God written boldly in their State houses and Courts of Law, has now legalized a deadly sin, a sex perversion. How sad! They are asking God to be removed from the way they run their lives. The Priests were sleeping when the enemy was planting its tares. The enemy, Satan has entered into some people and took up priestly roles. And when this happens, what do you expect other than to be busy working out the agenda of Satan though camouflaging as Priests of God?
What are the implication of such act on Nigeria social-cultural and religion live?
As I have said, I do not for see same sex marriage happen in the near future in Nigeria. Our big men who I heard practice homosexuality and still do it the normal way, are not yet bold enough to admit it in the open because it is still seen as a taboo or call it 'abomination' in our society.
God forbid, if it does happen, with the stigma of corruption, wickedness, kidnapping of people for ransom, killings for ritual purposes etc pervading our air, then we are in for a disaster.
