2 Nigeriaworld Feature Article - Jesus as Co-Feminist
It is interesting at this point to note that Paul too, like Jesus, acknowledged the role of women in his ministry despite some controversial things he said about women. Paul did not undermine women's important roles in the Early Church. He gave the women honorable mention. He talked about Appiah in Philemon who was mentioned as hosting a church in her house.
3 Nigeriaworld Feature Article - Sex is God's idea: Sexuality in God's Kingdom on Earth
God's gift to humanity is its Sexuality as well as its Spirituality. Overall, sexuality has become thorny for many Christians. Paul drew attention to the perennial struggle between the flesh and the spirit. God's various commands and injunctions are designed to make life better for humans not complicated. If 'Sex is God's Idea' as Earl Paulk suggests in the title of his book, why has human sexuality become so complicated?
4 Nigeriaworld Feature Article - The challenges of being blameless before men
Blameless before others is not just about their perception of us, it is equally about our actions. It requires an input from us, part of which is pursuing peace. Are we blameless in the way we deal with people? Do we relate to people with integrity of hearts? When people hurt us, do we reach out to them or do we look for the opportunity to payback, because revenge is sweet?
5 Nigeriaworld Feature Article - International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination: Focus Canada
Today, it can be said that Canada no doubt owes some of its development to the various immigrants that have come and have contributed to it. Immigrants for the past over 100 years have increased Canada's population. They have diversified the ethnic composition of the country to the admiration of many other countries that are trying to emulate Canada's immigration policy.
6 Nigeriaworld Feature Article - My Reflection on the Lenten Season and Fasting
Jesus went into the wilderness, away from distraction. While in the wilderness, three things happened to Jesus. First, Satan tempted him, when He was most vulnerable. Of course, He resisted the devil's snare, and was victorious. Hence, we are assured of victory whenever the devil assails us. Secondly, He was with wild beasts. He endured and survived a very dangerous environment. He was protected. Thirdly, Angels ministered to Him, God sent help to Him.
7 Nigeriaworld Feature Article - My New Year Reflection: The pursuit of happiness
We have just stepped into the New Year. It is always a time of mixed emotions, a time when some people are joyfully evaluating the achievements of the previous year and are happy with themselves.
8 Nigeriaworld Feature Article - God's Advocates versus Devil's Advocates
The war against the Body is also manifest in the emergence of the 'New Spirituality Movement', which rejects what it calls the 'Old Christian Religion'. It claims the religion is bound by rituals, rules and creeds, but which by definitions are necessary components of all religions. The new Spirituality Movement rejects the term 'religion' and demands a 'relationship'. They seem to forget that Christ's entire ministry was relational.
9 Nigeriaworld Feature Article - Women: The Apple of God's Eye
Each year on March 8th, the whole world celebrates the International Women's Day (IWD), a global celebration of the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. IWD is the story of women's attempt to participate on equal footing with men, an occasion for women from diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural background to come together and look at decades of struggles for equality, justice, peace and development.
10 Nigeriaworld Feature Article - Celebrating the diversity in God's Kingdom
The overall message in all these short stories is that God had a purpose for the diversity that He created. He could have allowed the one language, the one speech of Babel to remain. However, He created diversity out of that oneness. In that diversity, God wanted cohesion. He wanted "Unity in Diversity". Unity is a state of oneness, a state of being joined together. Paul in his letter to the Philippians 2:2-5 reminds us what this cohesion would look like.
