OUR COLLECTIVE SHAME IN AFRICA

frica is returning
To the past, a period of slave by barter.
Her citizens are being sold
To the devil in the Eastern Africa.
Her scions languish in heinous
Plantation across the oceans.

Africa is returning
To the past. African leaders regale
In bad leadership.
Her citizens are helpless,
With the survival of the fittest,
In the land of a thousand Demons.

Africa is returning
To the past. Her citizens run ashore,
Some are languishing
At home, some are perishing
In the land of no return and chaos!

Africa is returning
To the past.
Weep not for our leaders.
Weep for our hapless
brethren in search of succor
In the dens of the Devil.

Africa is returning
To the past. African leaders
Have no modicum of shame!
My heart sank to see
Fellow human beings
Being sold to the Devils
In the 21st century civilization.

All across Africa,
It is a tale of human misery,
Corruption, political upheavals
And religious abracadabra.
As I am ensconced in my lamentations
And hopelessness,
For Africa, my catechism is,
Who will save the continent?
