n Latin, Ut Ignoscat vobis Deus, means "May God forgive you" that was the first known comical words of prayers from Pope Francis when he was toasted, the Papacy has moved to the new world. Habanious Papam it also meant we have a new Pope. Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina was elected to head the 1.2 billion Catholic Church, with over 170 billion dollars investment in men, material and money with details of tentacles of economic octopus all over the globe.
The election of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio as the new Pope following the resignation of Benedict XV1 was a complete departure from the European dominated system of electing the heir to the thrown of Jesus on earth, like the new Pope said, the Cardinals went to the end of the world to find a Bishop for Rome and Catholics to lead the Church which first claimed the first Pope was Simon Peter who was buried in Rome and which Jesus Christ said on the Rock Peter would his church be built, a fact which the Pentecostals and Protestants out of rebellion for the supremacy of the Catholic disputed.
Somehow, the new Pope decided to take a new name as it was the customary with the last 265 previous Popes, the new Pope took un-usual name in the history of the Church. He took the name of Saint Francis of Assisi who was born in 1182 the son of wealthy textile merchant, whose life changed after he understood the sermon of Jesus that Matthew 10: 9 who said his followers must go forth and proclaimed that the kingdom of Heaven was upon they that forgo riches. It was the keyword that captured Francis. He left it all.
Francis left the comfort to join the poor in begging at St. Peter's Basilica because he wanted to experience the life of poverty, when he had larger followers he was recognized by Pope Innocent 111 in 1210 AD. Francis took Catholic Churches to Egypt to convert the Sultan, he proclaimed the message of Jesus in Morocco and many places including an attempt to visit Jerusalem but was prevented by shipwrecked events however, the most important was his stigmatic which happened in a vision he had on the Mt. of La Verna.
Francis created new rules for the Catholic reformation which were adopted by Pope Honorius 111 in November 29 1223, the core of his words for the Christians to live in obedience without anything of our own and in chastity. Francis died in 1226 at the age of 43-45 or so after listening to Psalm 140/141. Pope John. Paul 11 later in the last century said "the world and its problems can only be inspired by the words and deeds of St Francis of Assisi to help us to keep alive a sense of fraternity with those good and beautiful things which Almighty God has created."
The above is the legacy the new Pope is hopping to emulate. Can he do it? Will the temptations of the 21st Century with unending improvement in technology and additional rights of all people, men, women, children gays, lesbian and bisexuals that were unheard at the time the Bible was written allow him? He asked his followers to pray for him, his past as a Bishop and Cardinal in Argentina laid credence to his simplicity, his love for the poor and affection to his relationship with other religions like the Judaism which he visited their place of worship in Argentina, and Islam is an indication Pope Francis may be different from others before him.
Will his action reflect the change the Church requires? Will he be able to fight corruption in the Church? The world is waiting for the new leader of 1.2 million followers, and how will his action expand the congregation?
As the first Jesuit to become the Pope the revolution of positive chnage within the Church can be expected, it was an organization formed in 1540 by Ignatius of Loyola a Spanish from Bosque with six students of the University of Paris, Jesuit means the company of Jesus or in Spanish word, Amigos el Senor or friends in the Lord, it was formed to reform the Catholic Church against corruption, venality and spiritual lassitude, a body which focuses on spiritual exercises based on direct meditation on the life of Jesus Christ, they work to meet the need of spiritual Directors to help explain any message received during meditation.
How will Pope Francis handle the problem the church is facing in the 21st Century on Gay rights, role of women in Church, and priests involved with child abuse, petrifies or homo sexual within the Catholic fold? His words on gay rights were mixed with unclear message, he said the gay must be respected because they are also children of God, but he was unclear if their actions should be embraced. He had a war of words with the government of his home country Argentina on same sex marriage when he wrote
"Let us not be naïve, this is not a simple political fights, same sex is a destructive proposal to God's plan by the Devil father of all lies to confuse and deceive the children of God"
Firstly, Pope Francis must re-organize , reclaim and expand the Church from the encroachment of the sugar coated mouths of the Pentecostal Pastors worldwide and overnight Jet users using the name of God to manipulate innocent sheep looking for redemption through Jesus Christ, to do this, he must do the expected house cleaning of the Church, save the Catholic from priests tarnishing the name of the Church, he must retrain the priests to preach more from the Bible and from the heart than the practice of reading from a prepared brochure from Rome.
Secondly, the Church must not surrender the leadership of winning the souls to any of those who left the fold since England led the way with his King James Version of the Bible, the original Bible before James version must be available to every street of the world, let every soul be reminded of the Rock of Jesus Christ, all these cannot be done without house cleaning and improvement of the security of HIS Eminence.
Thirdly, the election of Pope Francis on March 13th is also a sign that the security of the Pope must not be compromised, he must beware of the idles of March like Julius Cesar was warned, the Oracle says the Pope must watch his back to meet the changes expect from his Eminence, his task cannot be done without extra security, the Oracle is sure Pope Francis will be protected by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
